Miranda looked up at her. "I cannot impose on your household. I must go with my family...I do not wish to be burdensome."

"You wouldn't be.." Elizabeth said.

Miranda looked at her, then thought a moment. She finally said, "I suppose I shall stay here until he can make the journey."

She nodded slightly, and sighed softly, feeling several different emotions.
((wanna skip?))

((I'll just do the beginning of the rp...besides I think Gabriel's already left...and I'll start where they tend to the soldiers))
Around a year later, Elizabeth was found on the porch of the Martin's home, tending to soldiers of both England and the colonies. She lifted a hand to wipe her forehead, since it was summer at this time. She looked up at Miranda, who was tending to another soldier, before going back to her work.

Miranda finished tying a piece of cloth around a man's wound before standing, rolling up her sleeves, and washing her hands. She had been staying at the Martins' for about a year now. Her uncle had responded to her letter.
Once.
She had heard nothing for about seven months. There were rumors that Tavington, the Butcher, had killed him himself, or that he had tortured him for information. Miranda did not listen to any of it - she had enough to worry about. Gabriel was away in the army, Thomas was itching to enlist, and the war was practically at their front door. She wiped her hands and walked off of the porch to the barn, where more seriously wounded were awaiting care.

Elizabeth sighed softly, and she was thankful the day was ending, since it meant it would get ciiker,

Miranda came out of the barn late that night, for many of the men had needed careful care. The sky was almost black, and she could hear her feet crunching the grass beneath them. In the stillness, she suddenly heard something, something far off, so far off that only a dog could hear it....then again, she had hearing that was as good as a dog's...a gift from the Lord, for her sight was faulty...she froze and listened some more. Horses. Running horses. She walked up to Elizabeth's room and roused her. She pressed a finger to her lips and whispered, "Listen."

Elizabeth listened then realized it was a horse. "Who do you think it may be?"

"I don't know..." she said. She looked to the window and saw the horse coming toward them. The coat was blue.... "Oh dear Lord," said Miranda. She hurried down the stairs and looked outside to see for sure, then turned to Elizabeth and whispered, "Wake the family."

She nodded, and woke the older ones first, so they could help with the younger three.

Miranda stood at the doorway, then stepped aside as Gabriel came in. As if on cue, the children came into the room at the same time. She stepped off to the side and watched the scene.

Elizabeth leaned on the wall as the family conversed with Gabriel.
