Has anyone ever been to EvBoard? It has some strong language, but what's cool about it is that not only the fans post, but the band members post threads too!

I've been there and joined but never got the email. I didn't know the band members posted there too! That is so cool. I don't think I'll join though because I have plenty of LOTR forums to handle.

Btw, what exactly was the subject matter for Going Under? I was a bit off on that one.

You mean, like the story? Because then it would be something like...oh she's mad or something at someone. I don't know, but it's somehwhere along those lines... :disgust:

You could always look at the lyrics.

whoohoot! I love this band!! Can i join?? I usually hate being like everyone else but my favorite songs were always Bring me to Life and My Immortal. Their whole repertoire is so ethereal and unwordly, it really sets them apart as a band. And i've been to EvBoard too, that place is awesome, not a member though but I like going there to brush up sometimes.

Yay, welcome! Do you like Josh Groban too? (I was looking at your sig.) If you do, that's just...wow. I don't find very many people who like both; they're too different in their styles!

I think I remember Amy saying that Going Under was about coming out of a bad relationship and finally realizing how abusive it's been. I'm kind of ticked off though because one of my favorite Ev sites, Crimson Regret, which had all of these band quotes and explanations for the songs, has apparently shut down, at least temporarily :disgust:

Ellethwen (and anyone else who listened to Anywhere But Home), what did you think of Amy's kind of rambling but ghostly vocal introductions to a bunch of the songs, like Bring Me to Life and Whisper? I thought it was a little odd for Bring Me to Life, but I really liked how it fitted in to Whisper...kind of a dark, gothic opening and then *smash* rock heaven. I also liked how they ended Whisper in concert; on the CD, I think the choir chanting Latin goes on a little too long.

I do! I get a lot of weird responses from that but I'm into all sorts of music and Josh Groban is something special in his genre as is Evanescence, the fact that they're worlds apart just lets you draw completely different ideas and feelings from them.

I actually found it fitting in Bring me to Life, all of them actually, of course its just because I love her vocalizations, just because of the unworldly ambiance it gives the song, then again I'm a little weird... :erm:

Listen to the Rain was one of the first non-Fallen Ev songs I heard, but what I still wonder is whether Amy ever actually sings in it.

I wondered that as well - I mean, it a lot of places it doesn't really sound like her at all. I can hear Ben Moody in it, though. It's really like opera style, which got me confused for a minute when I first listened to it ... but somewhere I read that Amy's really into opera-type music, and I think that's what she wanted to sound like at the time. It's certainly changed a lot now, though.

I didn't like the live versions of the songs very much, but the studio remix of "Missing" was amazing.

I loved that too... the sad thing is, I've listened to Missing so many times I don't often play it anymore :P... but talking of which, I'll play it now...

... I forgot how good it was! *turns it up and sits listening contentedly*

I totally agree! Even though they're very different, they both have produced some of my favorite music. I even wrote a comparison/contrast essay about Amy Lee and Josh G. for an English class :-D

Te openings with the ghostly stuff was good...but it confused me on Bring Me To Life, I'm so used to it starting wight with the piano! But it drags on for a little whil in the beginning...for me at least, but it's O.K.

I argree with the choir thing in Whisper on Fallen. One day, just for the sake of it, I was counting how long that went on at the end and it was about a minute...

I just joined the E-Team, I printed out fliers and aped one to my door. Not sure what to do with the rest.

:jawdrop: That's freaky!! I did something similar too for a Sociology paper on the influence of music in pop culture and modern youth society and personality (something like that :confuzzled:) , except I had to do mine comparing the overall genres. I still managed to squezze in Lee & Groban, along with a lot of other music representatives.

hey, I haven't either...except for "Where Will You Go?"

You can find some on an album titled 'Origin'. that's as much as I know.

You won't find that album at a store...try E-Bay or something...

I've heard that if you try and buy 'Origin' off Ebay it's really expensive... I downloaded it from somewhere *very ashamed that I didn't pay for it* but I am constantly on the look-out for their old material... try second-hand shops, that's where my friend found an old Evanescence album.

Oh, I'll join! I'm a fan of Evanescence because...well, my friend was a huuge fan and then Arwen told me she liked them...and I heard My Immortal on the radio and I loved it! So I bought their CD.

Thanks Arwen! That explains alot. I would have loved to see that site. It's so depressing when sites close.
