Cilicia smiled as Val's words. "Well, as much as I injoy a friendly battle, that by the way seems to make you two look like my mom and dad... your not secretly married are you?" Cilica began.
With a wide smile that informed everyone he was joking, and with the unfriendly looks that shot back he said. "I'll be going to get ready now."

Anakin's stomach dropped as Cilicia mentioned about someone being secretely married. No one could know of his marriage with Padme and he meant to keep it that way. He sighed deeply and shook his head.

Anakin walked over to his speeder. He bent his knees low, checking every wire and slot. His eyes examined and studied the cockpit very well. He didn't want to say, but he liked the challenge of flying this piece of junk.

Val thrust the starter chip into her speeder. As it wheezed to life, she listened to the engine, gauging its performance.

Anakin hopped into the cockpit as his eyes still examined the controls. He also thrusted the starter chip not too long after Val did. After that was done he immediately started flipping switches, setting them to his desire. He finally slipped on the headset and listened to the others conversations.

"Okay, team, here's some strategy." Valera vaulted into her cockpit and ran her hands over the familiar controls. "You stand a chance of finishing in the top twenty if you can pass the Hed Spire - that blue thing over there - five minutes into the course. Do you all have the course map on your speeder's nav displays?"

Val let out a genuine laugh. "Not so fast, hotshot! I should have added, 'in a normal race.' This is not a normal race. And by the way, there are no shortcuts. You leave the course, and you're disqualified."

Jaden listened as the two went at it. "Maybe having Anakin would have it's advantages but also disadvantages." He thought silently to himself.
But he realy didn't care, he was just there for the fun of it, to race.

Val hit the throttle, pulling smoothly up into her starting space, fifty feet above the ground. Once there, she performed a last check, making sure that she was strapped in with the safety harness. With the kind of manuvers she was used to doing, she would need it.
