Eleshna nodded and gathered her satchel, along with the book with the diagram of the jewel, and glanced around.

"Well.... here goes... we leave safety to face what lies ahead..." she mumbled half to herself.

Jaden led the way to an exit not far away.

"It might still be out there. Wait here while I go up and have a look around." Jaden said as he took the small rock out of his pocket.

With a simple touch the entrance seemed to matirialize out of thin air.

Jaden walked out looking around catiously... there didn't seem to be anything htere.

"It looks clear." he called down to Eleshna.

Eleshna nodded and followed him outside, glancing around cautiously for the creature.

"We'll need to head west, towards the Ash mountains...." She mentioned, still glancing side to side.

Jaden nodded in agrement as he led Syndar over to her. "You be nice now." Jaden told the horse as he handed Eleshna the riegns.

He then walked over and climbed on Azher's back. The dragon was not used to it, but he did fairly well in his attempts not to throw Jaden off while they traveled.

Often he would forget that he was on him and make some random move that Jerked Jaden off to the side.

Eleshna leapt lightly onto Syndar and watched with slight amusement as Jaden climbed on Azher.

An occasional fit of chuckling would come over her as she watched Jaden ride the dragon.

The first day the creature seemed to be no where in sight, there travelings were peacefull to Jaden's surprise.

That night as it grew dark Jaden asked, "Do we ride through the night or Rest?"

"Ride through the night.... if Syndar and Azher aren't too worn, that is.... I know I have no desire to rest." Eleshna replied quietly.

"Syndar and Azher will be fine. We continue on then." Jaden assured her.

That night brought cold winds, the air seeming to dry with the lowering temperatures.

Eleshna pulled her cloak tighter about herself and shivered against the chill as they rode on. She glanced back a few times through the darkness, her eyes seeking any movement.

Suddenly she pulled Syndar to a halt, rubbing her left hand and glancing around. "Something's not right... "

Azher stopped and walked over closer to Eleshna and Syndar.

"What is it?" Jaden asked her, looking around for anything visible.

"I don't know, but my hand hurts, and the wind is strange... it keeps switching directions" Eleshna peered into the night for a moment as she dismounted Syndar.

Jaden got down from Azher, pulling his sword from it's sheath.

"Maybe the best thing would be to keep riding." he sugested.

"Perhaps..." Eleshna spoke quietly, trying to hear beyond the howling wind as it whipped their cloaks back.

"Down!" she suddenly shouted, ducking beneath a small black, arrow-like object, just barely seen in the darkness.

Jaden dropped imediately. Syndar and Azher scattered.

Jaden looked up at the thing, just barely catching a glimps.

His first reaction was to look to Eleshna, then to his animals to see that all were unharmed.

Eleshna rolled as soon as she landed on the ground then came to her feet, but immediately another object came from the darkness beyond.

Eleshna glanced arround for Syndar, dropping to the ground again to avoid the spike. "Jaden?" Somehow she had managed to move far away enough that she had lost track of Jaden.

The wind continued, making things all the more confusing, as voices and sounds were lost in the howling gusts.

Jaden whistled to Syndar who came running up to him as Jaden himself moved towards Eleshna's voice.

She had moved into the darkness.

Soon she came into view not far infront of him.

Jaden jumped on Syndar and ran over to her, grabbing her and pulling her up on the horse whole Azher enguaged the creature in battle giving them time to escape.
