ooh this is interesting.
I do think that the swastika now has a negative connotation, but I'm not sure that it should be erased. I mean, it reminds people about the nazis and the holocaust, and as long as people remember it, and associate it with wrongness, then it won't occur again.
But thats just my opinion.
Is Napolean that French guy who tried to take over the whole of Europe?? And was beaten by Nelson?? (my hisory knowledge is a little patchy in any time other than C16th England)

Napoleon did try to do so, but he wasn`t a naval commander and I am not sure if he was in rule at the time of Nelson... _________________

Nope, I don´t think they lived in the same time ... There was Blutcher, Wellington (I think) and this Russian Emperor guy whose name I managed to forget

Back to the Natzi thing, I agree that it is a lasting symbol of the horror that happened. We should probably keep it just because of that, so that everyone can remember what it stands for, and never forget everything that happened in the Holocaust. I mean there are already a lot of crazy people out there who think that it never really happened, and that the Jews just made the whole thing up. We read about this one guy in particular in class a while back.... I just don't get how you could ever think that.

A. How could have the jews all told the same lie all together? I mean there would be a sure leak in such a lie...
B. Then why is there knowledge of the Final Solution? Was that a lie made up by the jewsish people?
C. Eh... Pure proof evidence perhaps? Allied forces found concentration camps and how do you suppose they got there?

C.: Hmmm if they're stupid enough to believe that, they probably also believed the jews built the concentration camps? (just a stupid idea about a stupid thought)
Maybe these ppl just feel (somehow) guilty for what happened, or even ARE guilty, and want to say it's the Jews's fault...

The thing is, if somehow the proof was allowed to be erased then these idiots could be thought to be right in future generations.
that has no real relevence to anything, but I think that without documents and diaries and actual writings anyone could say that anything could happen. I probably read 1984 too much...
conclude: never ever let anyone destroy any proof of anything. And don't let anyone tell you the holocaust wasn't real...

I once heard that we actually live 200 years ago, because there was a king who just invented like 200 years, made a few false documents (------>there is a period of about 200 years we have hardly any documents from) to make sure he could stay king....But that's kinda weird....not impossible, though...
