I know this thread has probably been started before but I'm little more then a newbie...
whose your favorite LOTR character??
I like Sam!!! He's so sweet, brave, and loyal. Second would be Frodo because of his determination and wisdom, third would definatly be Aragorn, the ranger and the king who was both wise and strong and helped the hobbits on their quest.

I love Boromir. I love his bravery, honour and nobility. I think he is a good example of how someone who is twisted by pride and evil, but makes a turn round in the end. I like characters that exhibit that.
I also like Faramir, but not as much...anyone from Gondor is cool!

My favorite character is absoluetly Éowyn. She just seems so brave and determined. I would really like to be her. Actually, right now I'm trying to be patient and grow my hair just as long as Éowyn's hair

My favorite character is Frodo. Although he was afraid of the task ahead of him, he had the courage ( along with Sam's encouragement:)) to follow through.Well, that's it:0

Fave character: def Eowyn! At the beginning of her intro, you almost think she's going to be a tragic character, but something really good worked out for her once she gave up her fantasies.

My favourite character is Legolas, for reasons I and other people don't understand. I'm just drawn to Elves, for some reason. And his quiet personality is just...me.
Other than that, I really couldn't pick a favourite. There are so many features I love about all of them that picking just one above all...impossible. I feel like I'm being disloyal to the others. Truly, I don't think there is a character I don't identify with in some way.

Boromir, Faramir, and definitly the Witch King. I like Boromir because he is the most human and everyone can relate to him. I like Faramir because when I read his story it remind me of myself. The Witch King becasue he is...how should I say this....kickass!

My favorite character is Sam He's the kind of friend I'd like to have (and the kind of friend I'd like to be), and I doubt the Ring would have been destroyed had Sam not been at Frodo's side all the way to support him.

I like the Nazgul in general, the tragedy of their fall is interesting, and you sometimes must think what they would do if freed from bondage

My favorit character is Legolas, i love Elves more than the other races and hes so nice and loyal of course an orli looks great with the long blonde hair! After him cames Frodo because he looks so innocent and always when he has no power to go any step further id like o stay up and help him although hes mightier and more powefull than everyone us! and of course last but not least ARWEN,she got mortal because of her love to aragorn!

...Probably Frodo. He's got the courage and determination (along with his loyal Sam ) to keep him moving forward. And I like how he's the 'unlikely hero.' It gives us all hope for ourselves.
Also, he admits he's afraid, which takes great mental strength to do. He's not one of those macho heros who thinks he has to be strong, silent, and fearless.
To put it simply, he's your average Joe who steps it up and shows his inner strength in a time of great need. And I love 'im for it.
