Slowly, Val let her raised arm relax as she felt the change in Anakin. She looked at Jaden and Cilicia - she didn't know how much of the exchange they had caught.
Her right hand reached up to the muscle where her left shoulder met her neck, feeling the end of the dart still embedded there. "Can you all do something for me? Anakin and Cilicia, you'll have to hold my shoulder, and Jaden, pull the dart out. Quickly. This is important. Before the painkillers wear off and it feels even worse." She plunged herself into the Force, preparing for the coming ordeal. As long as she could keep herself from screaming, she'd be happy.

Anakin's eyes fell to the ground for a few moments as he stared at it in deep thought of what was happening to him. Was it really wrong to feel anger and frustration? After all, it did help him ease through the race, but then on the other hand, he knew it wasn't right.
"Uh sure.." He lifted his head and walked behind Val and put his right mechanical hand on her shoulder. One that caught a glimpse of his eyes would know in themselves that something dark was lingering over him.

Jaden could feel the confrentation as the two went at it... but was unsure of egsactily what was going on.
"Uh... yeah sure." Jaden agreed to help, pulling himself out of his dazed emersion in the force attempting to gather more information on the conflict the two were having.
Jaden moved over behind where he could pull the dart out quickly and as painlesly as posssible.

Cilicia moved closer to help witht he operation. He didn't like theese kinds of things.
Taking hold he looked away while Jaden pulled the dart.

Val drew her breath in sharply as Jaden drew the barbed metal spike out of her shoulder. Had Anakin and Cilicia not been bracing her, she was sure she'd have felt more than the momentary stab of undiluted pain that tore through her upper body. "Thanks," she gasped, feeling the warm blood coursing out of the wound.

Val took the dart from him, turning it slowly in her hand. Who had fired it? And why? The races were illegal, but they were usually fair and tightly restricted.
She looked up as a cheer rose from the surrounding crowd. The composite times were up - and the silver team was at the top!

Anakin looked up at the screen at saw the results. But he didn't rejoice, he looked rather disturbed and he put his head to the floor.

Sheilk jumped up, ran around and yelled "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHHH! THEY WON! THEY WON! IN YOUR FACE, ELPO! HAHAHA!" until he tripped and landed on his face. (oh yeah!)

"I'm fine, just can't use my left arm. Thank you guys so much - you probably saved my life." Val smiled at them all. "Congratulations! In case you're wondering, the prize credits go to the account I have set up; I'll transfer them to your accounts." She clenched the dart in her right fist. There was a mystery here, and she wouldn't rest until she got to the bottom of it. "How about heading back to the Temple?"
