Harry is not pure-blood, he is considered half-blood because his mom was muggle-born.
About Tom not being pureblood, Kit explained it, but I just rememebered that part in OotP where Harry's saying to the Death Eaters "Did you know that Voldemort was half-blood? Or has he been telling you that he's pure-blood?" or something like that. He tries to keep it on the down-low.

Yeah, all of his death-eaters thought he was pure-blood, or so it seems, but Voldemort is perfectly open with Harry about his muggle father.

That's right! I can't believe I didn't remember that! God! I'm losing my memory! Curse Lockhart and his ingenious memory charms!

Ha ha ha!
Oh, I had another question . . . Dumbledore was a professor before headmaster right? So, what did he teach? If that was told then I swear I'm going to run smack into the wall 15 times today.

Yes but Lily is a witch. A muggle-born one, yes but, nevertheless, she is still a witch. Wouldn't that make Harry a pure-blood?

^ I think to the people who care about these things in the Harry Potter world the fact that Lily had muggle parents was more important than the fact that she was a witch. It seems to be more about who your parents, grand parents and so on were than about magical ability.

Yes. Think of it this way; if all of your family on your mom's side had blue eyes, but your mom had green eyes, you'd still be most likely to have blue eyes. Not because Blue eyes are the more dominant gene, but because all of your family had it, except for your mother. Did that make sense?

Yes but Lily is a witch. A muggle-born one, yes but, nevertheless, she is still a witch. Wouldn't that make Harry a pure-blood? I know, but in the books he's referred to as a half-blood multiple times. And like Elanor said, for people that care about that the fact that his mom's a 'mudblood' matters. A quote from JK: Quote: The expressions 'pure-blood', 'half-blood' and 'Muggle-born' have been coined by people to whom these distinctions matter, and express their originators' prejudices. As far as somebody like Lucius Malfoy is concerned, for instance, a Muggle-born is as 'bad' as a Muggle. Therefore Harry would be considered only 'half' wizard, because of his mother's grandparents.

Did what I say make sense? It's hard for me to tell sometimes.

Quote: Okay, it's official. I have lost all memory of reading any of these books!
Don't worry I tend to forget stuff about the books too, actually i knew what Dumbledore had taghut before becoming headmaster, but I don't remember where I read, or what book it was in.
I think the book was awsome. The second chapter was my favorite, it gives me a good reason to hate Snape. I found chapter four, Horace Slughorn and chapter 5 Excess of Phlegm kinda boring. Alright, I'm not the fastest person in the world but does anyone understand why Ginny calls Fleur "Phlegm"? I was really excited when Harry and Ginny finally got together, and if Ron and Hermione don't get together in the next book, I think I'll go insane. The whole Tonks and Remus thing I find interesting it didn't bother me at all, took me a bit by shrprise that's all. I totaly couldn't belive it when Snape turned out to be THe Half-Blood Price, ya I hate him, but I never thought he was working for the other side and all that.
I was accidently told that Dumbledore died in the end, but I still cried when I read it. I was in a restaraunt when i read it actually, and i didn't want to cry while I was in there, but then my mom, very suddenly out of the blue said "Have you reached the interesting part yet" or somthing like that and I just started to cry. My mom had no idea what she did, it was pretty funny now that I look back on it.

Has anyone seen that sticker that says, 'Dumbledore dies on page (whatever page it is, I don't remember). I just saved you $20 and hours of your time. Hey, at least I didn't tell you Snape kills him.' I laughed for hours when I saw that sticker, and I got it and put it on a book I always carry around, I ticked off so many people...
