Sahrai sighed, turning to look at Viree before heading to his bedchamber. "We have no concrete plan - we can't form one unless we have blueprints of the Maedan areas and where they have their missiles. We're kind of doing this by instinct - it's subject to chance any time. I thought you understood that already." He went into the bedroom, closing the door behind him and flopping down on the bed. His squad members would close the main door behind them as they went to their respective suites.

>_< sorry for not posting, guys - I've been busy.

Kyane stepped out of the room, crossing the hall to his suite. Closing the door, he walked over to the refreshment area and poured himself a drink. While he did enjoy various alcoholic drinks, he found that he preferred good old juices better. Citrus fruits, especially. He finished off his drink and headed towards his room, to sleep off the weariness of travelling.

Viree13 practically snarls in rage. With a sigh she turns on her heel and stalks out, going back out to the hangar. Viree13 leaps into her comandeered X-wing and exits the hangar, heading towards the Maedan area. "If he wants blueprints, he'll get 'em....."

na'Tatha rose at the hour before sunrise the next morning, as usual. Dressing and gathering her equipment, she was about to leave for her before-breakfast practice at the firing range, when her computer terminal beeped. There was an incoming transmission, encrypted at the second-highest security level. The subcommander leaned over the terminal, tuning out the tiny spikes of static.
"Subcommander Tenil na'Tatha, this is General di'Mano."
"Greetings, General." She barely managed to conceal the surprise in her face. This was highly irregular! di'Mano occupied one of the seven seats on the Defense Council. "I assume that you have orders for me?"
"No orders, Subcommander." His voice dropped. "An opportunity."
na'Tatha immediately felt stabs of suspicion, but again could not afford to show them. "I'm listening, sir."
"You are one of the most well-known political analysts on Taarin - that's one of the reasons you were assigned the post of liason to the Jedi. Your reputation could be what the future of this world hangs upon."
"How so, sir?"
"If - hypothetically only, you understand - if you were to declare that negotiation with the Maedan was no longer an option, the Taarin people would fully back surgical strikes by the military to remove the Maedan missile installations."
"That's reasonable, sir. However, I must stress that negotiation is still a very viable option."
"Let me continue. With the backing of the people, those under my orders could impose peace on our world - and let me assure you that, as an influential political scientist, you would be in a position of great power."
na'Tatha bit her lip. di'Mano was talking about a military coup, done in the name of stability and peace. And, what was more, inviting her to participate.
"What do you say, Subcommander?"

Viree13 soars out of the hangar, zooming towards the Maedan place, where the negotiations are supposed to take place. She sets down her craft a little ways away and slips out, her form melting into that of mist-like air.......
About an hour later her craft slips back into the hangar and she gets out, carrying a small holograph projector in her right hand. Viree13 marches to Sahrai's door and bangs on it rather unceremoniously. When it opens to show the Commander, she holds up the projector and presses a button. A view of the Maedan city appears, suspended in the air. "Good enough for you?..." A grin twists the corners of her lips, and her reptilian eyes glitter dangerously....

Nice plot twist, Valera - very cool.
Sahrai stared at the hologram for a minute, then looked up at Viree. "Do you realize exactly what you just did? If you had been caught, or even seen, you could have blown all chance of negotiations, and I, as your superior officer, would have been held responsible. However, I don't think that matters now, so tell me - what happened?"
That would call for an account of your trip to get the hologram, Luinnar.

(Thx, Aerandir. Luinnar, just keep in mind that we don't actually know yet where the negotiations will take place - that will be finalized "today". Also I believe we were treating the Maedan like they occupied a large area of the planet, not just one city. Think in terms of the Cold War.)
na'Tatha stood still, trying to relax, trying not to let any of her actions betray any of her thoughts. "Sir," she began carefully, "I have a duty to the Taarin people."
"And it is in the name of this duty that we are asking for your service."
"We, sir?"
She caught a trace of a stumble in his voice. He recovered, continuing, "You are sworn to the protection and best interests of our people. Are you going to renege on your word and loyalties?"

(True, but we would only be meeting in one city, and the holograph projector shows all the cities....)
Viree13 grins. "I flew in, hid the craft somewhere I knew it would be safe, and melted into air..... I looked through the city, found the right building, found the right safe, slipped in through the locking mechanism, got the projector, of course it was easy to get out, the thing was built to keep people out, not in...... Then I came back here...." She shrugs and flips the disc, closing the projection....

The question rises, Luinnar - how would you find the right building in the right city after getting there, and then get a hologram projector, then get out and back, all within an hour?

(lol. the laws of quantum mechanics allow her to be in multiple places simultaneously - but she must be kept very cold and no one is allowed to see her. See "The Quantum Before Christmas" in one of the December issues of Nature magazine It still doesn't explain prescience though)

(*sighs* Is it really that hard to grasp?.... You head to the hub of the city, the leader's house, the main man's pad, sneak in, grab the details of the city, which is the holographic projector, and get out....)

Maybe so, but within an hour? If you could just change the amount of time you were there, that'd be something to go off of, but just one hour is unrealistic.
Lol, Valera - that may be possible - after all, it is the Star Wars galaxy...you never know what they can do there....

Yeah, but it keeps the role-playing running smoothly and realistically.
No matter.
Sahrai rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, going through the Jedi technicques to help a person wake up fully. Pulling on his boots, he thought about what Viree had done, and sighed again. There were reasons he was in command. "Very well, I thank you for this, but remember - don't do that again," he said, looking up at Viree again.

na'Tatha drew herself up straight. "Sir, you know that I never break my word. I am simply not convinced that your - proposal - is in the best interests of the Taarin. It certainly is not for the entire planet."
"I don't want to have to order you, Subcommander."
"Sir, you cannot - I'm not subject to the orders of your branch."
"Which is why I am asking for your support."
She took a breath and looked him directly in the eyes. "I vow to thee, my nation," she began, reciting the oath that all Taarin military personnel took, "to hold thee in security and peace, to protect thy citizens, to strive for the common benefit, and to never forsake my honor, nor that of the Taarin."
"That's all very fine and idealistic, but -"
"Sir." Her voice was firm, her decision made. She needed to keep a hold over this general, and the best way to do it was to keep him in need of her. "I'll consider your offer."
