My understanding of image packs are that they are for people who want the brushes but it's not compatible with the particular program/version.

Is that right, and how do you use it? Thanks in advance!

Yup, I use image packs a lot Basically they are just the brushes but in JPEG format so that anyone can use them

Well, I have GIMP, but maybe there is something like this for photoshop too...Anyway, here is what I do:

You see there are actually three brushes on one image? Well, open a new image, large enough to hold one of the brushes, make sure you convert the image to grayscale before going on. Then go Script-Fu>>Selection>>To Brush
I'm not sure if that s how it works i photoshop, but that's how I do it in GIMP, hope that helped

Also, another way to do it is just crop the image pack so it's just showing one of the brushes, and go to Edit >> Define Brush Preset. That's how you do it in Photoshop But why would you need image packs if you have PS, keyodie?

Well, I have PS6 and those particular brushes are only compatible with PS7 and up, sadly.

That's alright

Yeah, it depends on which programme you have. On PSP (paint shop pro), you have to define the area you want to make into a brush with the selection tool.
