Dani had reached a breaking point...she didn't want to hurt her friends...or Sirius. She wiped her wrist across her eyes and said, "James - James, I'm sorry, okay?! You're right - I didn't mean any of that...and what do you mean, 'Tell him not to ask me to the ball?!' I thought he couldn't stand me!"

Well, maybe he was a bit too harsh, but it was worth of that. He passed trough Dani's furious attack and managed to stay alive. Really, that was a sucess. Loosening grip around her complitely he stepped away from her and collected his broom from the ground. He threw it from his hand as he tried to caught Dani. Now he looked it caringly. His broom was one of the most important things for him here, in school. He was using it frequently. Whenever he had practice or when he simply needed to clear his mind. Looking back at Dani he tiredly ran his fingers trough his hair again.
"Why do you ask me? I thought that I was the crazy one who never knew the limit." he said as his eyebrow raised spontaneously again "And really, I thought that girls get this feelings thing way better then us. Don't tell me that I was wrong."

Dani rolled her eyes. "Fine. Fine, whatever.." she said, turning around and walking away. She sighed and put her hands in her pockets. Was teenage life insane, or was it just her?

James suddenly laughed and shook his head. Apperantly, today started pretty much interesting and he simply couldn't wait to see what will happen next. He took few steps forward and grinned as he passed by her on his way to common room "Don't get lost. I'd hate the thought of you wandering around cluelessly." he added without even turning around.

Dani rolled her eyes and sighed again. She kept walking with her hands in her pockets, not really thinking about anything...she suddenly looked down as she walked into a courtyard and felt the wind lifting her hair behind her. That happened sometimes. She pulled it to one side and sat down on a bench. She had a good half-hour until class started...she looked up at the sky.

James bursted into the common room and put his broom back into the broom closet. He didn't even look around to see is anyone in the room besides him. He just stopped by the table when he left the books last night and threw them in his book bag. Really, today he didn't want to be late.

Dani sat there for about five minutes before she began to stare at the grass and wander in her thoughts...it crossed her mind that Sirius might find her there...she pictured a few scenes in her head.

What if he was nice, charming, and apologized for being so weird, then asked her to the ball?

Or...what if he came up and asked her why she had said what she said?

What if...he came and laughed at her because Peter had asked her? She sighed and shivered. She couldn't bear the thought of that...

"James!" Lily said,"I've been looking for you everywhere!"

James dropped the book which he was currently holding in his hand and it landed on the floor with one loud 'thump'. He immediately recognized the voice and bent down to pick up the book. He blew the dust off of it.
"Well, you have found me now." he said as he turned to her with large smile on his face and started approaching to her.

"Were were you?" she asked.

As he approached to her, without saying a word, he slowly leaned forward and pecked her on the cheek. He still didn't want to push his luck.
"Outside. On the pitch." he answered "I was flying. There I met Erika so I stayed for awhile. And then I had encounter with Dani." he added stepping to a side to take a better look at her "But if I knew you were looking for me, I'd be here ages ago."

Lily smiled, and touched the place on her cheek where James had kissed her,

"Does Sirius like Dani?" she asked.

James raised an eyebrow at her. He seriously needed to talk to Sirius, this was main subject for too long. Determined not to reveal the full truth he simply made half-serious face and crossed his arms in front of his chest.
"Hm... Should I start asking myself that you're simply using me to get to Sirius?" he asked still keeping the serious voice he had and making sure to eliminate every possiblity which would make him laugh or grin. Still, James Potter was one of the few really jelaous persons.

Lily choked, and started laughing.

"James, why would I use you, to get to Sirius? I've liked you since year 1! I'm just concerned about Dani, she always seems angry when I try and talk to her about him..."

Just to make sure, James eyed Lilly suspicously once again and then his smirk appeared again.
"Good." was the only thing said before short pause "Don't worry about that. I've already talked to Dani. Was almost killed in the process, so I know what do you mean by saying that she always gets angry when you mention him. It's not worth of remembering, though." he added bit more cheerfully "At least she didn't try to punch you."
