Val retracted her blade. She was reluctant to turn her back on Anakin, but they had to interrogate these people - who were clearly assassins.
Kneeling by the man whose ribs she had broken, she asked, "Who's in charge?"
He moaned, and managed to whisper, "I am."
"How much are you getting paid for our heads?"
He named a figure. Val gasped - somebody wanted them dead, very badly.

Anakin remained his his place, his eyebrows were frozen in their bent position. He heard Val talking to the man and Anakin stared at him deadly in the eyes.

Val raise her eyebrows at Jaden. "The amount he's getting paid would buy you, roughly, ..." she paused to think. "Aldaaran."
She turned back to the man. "Who's employing you?"
He rotated his head away from Val and didn't answer.
"Who's paying you?" The padawan used the Force to emphasize her words and break down his resistance. She had to lean down low to catch his whisper.
"The Grey Man."

Jaden's face changed to that of shock and surprise...that was allot of credits! He took a step back and held his lightsaber tight. He honestly had trouble beliveing that with that much money they would have so few men and such little equipment. But perhaps they were unawar that there would be four Jedi, or they were just overconfadent.

Jaden's face changed to that of shock and surprise...that was allot of credits! He took a step back and held his lightsaber tight. Jaden silently and casualy took a step towards Anakin, ready to stop him if he got carried away.
Although he was as well interested in the answer to that question.

The man gurgled in fear, almost choking as he babbled, "I don't know, I don't know, he gives the orders, pays well, I don't ask questions!"
Val laid her hand on Anakin's wrist and pried it off of the man's chin - it was hard to hear him when he couldn't talk properly. "When and where do you meet him?
"I'm supposed to meet him tomorrow night, an hour past midnight, with proof of your deaths. At the Plasma Strike Pub, the back room. I didn't know you were Jedi, honest, I thought you were pilots!"
Val nodded, already beginning to form a plan. She pulled a tiny Jedi tracking beacon from her belt pouch and slapped it onto his shin, then stood and turned to the others. "Let's call an ambulance for him and get out of here." He needed a medic, and if he was in the hospital, he wouldn't be going anywhere for a while.

"Have you never heard of mercy? Besides-" Val lowered her voice "- we can't turn him in to the police, or get involved with them." Something flickered in Anakin's eyes, and she added quickly, "No, we're not going to kill him. There's been enough bloodshed tonight." She brought out her comm link and called an ambulance over the emergency hospital channel, then stowed her lightsaber under her leather surcoat and led the way down the street. "Come on, you three. We have to talk."

Anakin was the last to follow her. He stared for a while at them feeling some sort of hatred towards them all. For what, he didn't know. He tried to fight against it but the more he did, the worse the feeling got. He put away his saber and finally followed the others.
