Hitler is by far my least favorite. As I believe I have said here before, I am studying the Holocaust right now. We just saw a film today with footage from the British as they liberated the concentration camp Bergen-Belsen. It was so disturbing, and soooo sad. It was a very hard film to watch. There were corpses everywhere, just piles of them, tossed around as if they were logs. The worst part were the people who were alive, but looked like zombies. They were walking around, alive, but they looked like corpses. Worse than corpses. They looked like bodies that had decomposed for awhile and then were brought back to life. It is indescribable. I just got so mad at Hitler, and I wanted to be able to kill him again, just send a bullet through his head. And of course there was so much else he did, too, but this was the worst.

Ok, sorry, I rambled for a bit.

I went to a Holocaust museum last year or so. Want to talk about sobering experiences! The sheer volume of humans massacred is enough to make you think. They had a wall of black stone and in it were carved countries and how many people were slaughtered in each.

It had pictures everywhere, and films playing, and it was so sad. Then, at the end, we were able to talk with a Holocaust survivor and that *closes eyes* was so heartbreaking... He had twin brothers and he is not sure to this day whether they were butchered as Jewish twins were, or whether they were rescued and taken to Russia. Just to hear him speak and to see the pain was indescribable. There were a few jerks from another school in the back of the room that were sort of smirking at it all at first, but even they at the end were shaken up a bit.

To see the hollow eyes, the spiritless humans on film is heartwrenching enough. But to see one that saw it all first hand and came through it... You pity him and feel so terrible and sad when it's over. And you wonder how anyone could survive such a thing.

Everyone ought to go through and experiance a holocaust museum once and talk to a survivor.

Now I am rambling!

Yes, on the film we watched there were a lot of Holocaust survivors sharing their experiences, and described how they saw family die before them... it was terrible. It would be very interesting to talk to a survivor in person though.

Of course the holocaust was terrible, but funny how something as the Armenian holocaust isn`t remembered that well, but I guess when you think your brains go like this.

Holocaust -> Jews -> Nazi -> Germany

Tell me btw how would you judge those countries that allied/helped themselves during the war with the nazi germany?

Nobody mentions the serbian slaughtering either. And I am serbian. I had family over there when Hitler was sweeping through.

Actually, the entire part that Yugoslavia and all that played is very much forgotten by most people. And after hearing how they resisted Hitler, and knowing my family, I can tell you that even though they were small, they definitely gave it their all.

WWII is kind of intersting for me, because different parts of my family were being massacred by the same man.

And yet, I have german in my background not too far back... but I think they were over here by then...

*gulps* I'm ashamed to be german! But Hitler is definately one of my least fav. persons in history! My granny doesn't seem to dislike him too much, though... And we're always having arguments because she always curses ppl from other countries /other religions...I get so mad when she does! She thinks the only good ppl in the world are christian germans...*shudders*

Which is a crying shame. It's always the little back stories that are the most intersting, and they are the ones forgotten.

HA! I have been hit with inspiration. I don't know if there is a thread for this, but this thread inspired me, so I figure this thread ought to have a chance to see it.

http://lothril.livejournal.com/

It goes along with the non-jewish holocausts.

You shouldn´t! One person cannot change the, let´s say, attitude or picture of whole nation!

Lothril, that was beautiful!

And yes, of course we Yugoslavia and ex-Yu people are often forgotten in big world history... You should see Slovenian Quizlings [um, not sure if that´s the word..] telling everyone that they were actually good, but somehow they keep forgetting to tell they´ve betrayed their country... Bleh. Me is almost ranting. Stupid, wordy me. *shuts up at once*

Berlin and München ect. are big enough!Actually WAY too big!)It's just because.......I dunno.......I don't like the country and ......the language...and..........h*ell, I hate nearly all of it!

Aloha!

I'm not German and I have never been to Germany, so I can't really say much there. Though, they are pretty dumb, if you say me. They tried to take over the world twice and failed miserably both times.

As Finland... I have never been there, but I am Finnish. I'm a full-blooded Celt.

Peace Out,
Tasare

PS: May I join?
