Does anyone agree with me on this view? I believe that when RotK won for categories like Best Director and Best Picture, it was in a way for the whole trilogy. I mean, RotK is a great movie alone--but all three of them together are a masterpiece. So I think that when they awarded awards like that, despite the awards won at the past Oscars, they were also regarding the whole trilogy. Look at Peter Jackson, how he made all three movies at once.
Does anyone else feel this way?
Oh - yes, I definitely agree!!! It was definitely the whole trilogy, but the Oscars were just supposed to be given out to single movies, so although the directors (as well as the rest of the audience) knew that the award was for the whole trilogy, it was technically for only RotK.
