Books that I'm going to read this summer are:
The Half Bood Prince
The first book in the Dark Tower series by Steven King - and the others if it's good.
The 3rd book in the Across the Nightingale Floor books
Angels and Demons by Dan Brown
and lots more of course

I just finished reading the two books by Mary Hooper:
At the Sign of the Sugared Plum
Petals in the Ashes
They belong together. The second one is a sequel! It's very nice. It's a bout a girl in the 17th century who comes to London. You can really live into the place, the time and the characters!

Philip Pullman? He sounds familiar, but I doubt I've seen any of his books. What are some titles?

Philip Pullman wrote the Dark Materials trilogy (VERY good! ) The titles of those books are:
the Golden Compass
the Subtle Knife
and the Amber Spyglass
He's also written more books that I haven't read. His website is www.philip-pullman.com I didn't like the ending to his Dark Materials books (:(), but they were still awesome!
Some other books I suggest:
Dragonlance!! I'm reading them now. Start with Rumor of Dragons and read all the books in that series. Then there's a bunch more Dragonlance serieses, but they're all by different authors, so it' confusing . Anyways, they're really good books!

I recommend you some Stephen King's classics, like Carrie, Cujo and The shining. If you want a really long book, I recommend you Apocalipsis.
Dragonlance will be interesting too... and Dan brown's books of course...

Oh my gosh! No wonder the author seemed familiar! Yes I have heard of his books because in math class, this guy sittling in front or me was reading "The Golden Compass" and I was sort of looking on because it was more interesting than math. *cough*

Start reading the books of Anne Rice , really good books, they are.
And if you want to read some humouristic fantasy books, go after Terry Pratchett.

Well at the moment I am reading through The Hobbit, and the the LOTR trilogy... but I can recommend The Green Mile by Stephen King for a good read- it's very sad but also makes you think.
