Because the person who invented the english language had a slight speech problem when he was inventing it, and so therefore the silent letters were made.

Because our toes need resting since we walk with them all day. Many people do believe we walk with out feet, but most people walk more as they sleep walk, and people are known to tip toe while sleeping.

Because that is its name, if you called Ginger bread anything else, such as Paprika, it would be insulted and leave. If Ginger left, you wouldn't be able to indulge in its tasty goodness!!
