What would you think of a film version of Beren and Luthien? Would it turn into a disaster, would the story turn into rubbish, or would it be a great idea?

If they could do it successfuly, close to the level of LotR, I t would be a great movie. It has a lot of good matirial that could be turned into a movie. I hope some one does it. (And does it well)

I think it'd be a great idea, as long as they did it well.

Ugh. But now that I think of it, they would probably turn it into some really overly romantic story with nude people and elf. *Shudders* Don't do that! Make the movie, but let it keep its dignity!

Ugh....I totally agree, Nauriel - they would probably corrupt the story.
Besides of which, I don't think any actress on earth could compare with Luthien's beauty, so.....^_^

Well, Liv portrayed Arwen, who supposedly looked the same as Luthien. So I think if it was doen they would ask Liv to take the role.

Depending on how it was done, it could be really really really good, or downright something I wouldn't feed a cat.
I'd like to see how they did Morgoth, hopefully not that huge metal guy like Saruon... I wanted him to look really ugly! Not just a walking suit of pointy armor!

Yeah, Liv would be perfect for the role of Luthien. But whom would you cast for Beren?

I don't know. But he would be a beautiful hunk of eye candy. I don't think there is anything cooler than a beautiful guy cutting up other people.
I don't think Morgoth should be exedingly ugly. He was a valar, and they are all pretty good looking (Or so I'm told) He would probably have that brooding look to him.

Well, his face is scarred horribly (the Eagle clawed him), he has a limp(Fingolfin slashed at his foot), and his hands are burnt (just from holding the Simarils), and he wore the form of a "Dark Lord, tall and terrible."
I don't see any pretty coming from that one. But that's just me...
