Thank Vivi

in any case... I have to put that up in the first post btw...

hmh.. the Nurmberg trial, was it right for men like Albert Speer and Karl Dönitz to get away alive all tough they were quite big? Speer was a Reich Ministry for Weapons, Munitions, and Armament, not to mention the chief architect...

Karl was the leader of the fleet, grand admiral. He was responsible for developing U Boats and so on...

I think they deserved what they got, but not death like those whom were seriously involved in the holocaust

Henry VIII - I have to write an essay on whether he did it because of divorce, the fact that he wanted greater power, or if the people forced it due to corruption in the church

This might be helpful:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reformation

Though it's mainly about the whole reformation rather than just Henry VIII who changed the church in England. Is it only about Henry you're writing about? Because the main reformation was because of curruption in the church but in England it was more about having power that didn't come from Rome.

Yea, I'm just doing about Enlgand. I personally think that it came about over here because Henry wanted a divorce - Anne boleyn was a protestant (although, not publicly because Henry was burning them), and she forced some protestant texts his way. So I think when he couldn't get a divorce she started to persuade him that a break from rome was the best thing - but thats just my opinion.

anyway, thanks for the link :)

I'd love to join. History is my favorite subject, next to literature (and sometimes those two go hand-in-hand!). :D

Oh, oh, me!

I just started History this semester and it's my favorite subject. I love it! Right now it's just Canadian history which is pretty useless as I'm guessing you guys don't know much about that.

Next year is European history though :)

Canadian history DOES tie in with England though as Canada's a british colony. We've got the Governor General representing the Queen in our Government. But it's all ceremonial, and pointless in my opinion.

Well Martin Luther was behind all of it, I guess it spreaded a lot into germany, the nordic countries and england to say the least.

The biggest chruch in Finland is the Evangelical Lutheran Church and then comes The Orthodox Church, Basicly we were under swedish rule and then king Gustav Vasa went along with the reformation since he seemed interested in it. This affect us of course and we also had our very own reformation fighter, Mikael Agricola whom also made the basic finnish alphabeth`s and book about it not to mention his greatest work the new testament turned into Finnnish...

But the very beginning was Martin Luther...
