the only problem I have with writing out of order isn't the events, it's the books. I have a series planned out and have grand visions for a few books in particular, except they're all over the place.

I've noticed that nothing in particular is easy, only important scenes I've been thinking of. Lacing them together is almost busiwork sometimes...

Yes, I hate doing that. Most of the time, I'll write down main plots and then think of little things to fit in the gaps. :-D

I love it when your just watching the news or something, and all of a sudden you a get a great idea for your story. I absoluetly love that feeling. I have around three books, a thriller, a fantasy and a fantasy which I'm writing with my friend. And after that one, we are planning another to write together. I suggest, that if anyone has a close friend, buddy up and make a book together, it's loads of fun!

I love writing stories. I've always liked writing. When I was little I wrote story after story about a girl getting a horse for a birthday present from her grandma. I have some of them saved, and they are quite a laugh.

But now that I've matured, I've developed a deep longing for writing. There's something within me that desires to reflect on my real life, and write a masterpiece such as Lord of the Rings or The Chronicles of Narnia. To write a story with astounding depth, beauty and adventure, and perhaps something allegorical to life and my beliefs (such as Tolkien and Lewis).

Am I the only one who sees...visions, almost? Or just, all of a sudden get a detailed idea that's totally random. I'll be walking in the woods at my local state park, and almost "see" something happening that seems so vivid.

Anyway, my point is that there are so many things I want to write about, so many "visions" I have. But the thing is, I can't write about them. I can't think of a way to fit all of these ideas into a storyline. I can't think of a sensible plot. All of these glorious ideas are rolling around in my head, but it's as if my mind isn't sophisticated enough to get them down on paper. It's as if the ideas are beyond me.

My hope is that I will someday use these ideas, and that my skills only need to improve.
Does anyone else feel this way?

/agree

You explaind that so good!!! I feel the same way...

I've been writing stories all my life :) mainly short stories, but I have a few longer works and a novel.

Hey, I'd love it if you'd check out the excerpts and summary I've posted here and tell me whether you think I should publish, what you think sounds exciting, and what you think is just plain dumb

I mostly write fanfictions, and most of my writings are based off of what I call "spontaneous inspiration". I'll just be watching a movie, and I'll suddenly be like, "Hey, what if...", and then before I know it I have a whole plot in my head. My latest work, a Star Wars one-shot called "Fulfiling Your Destiny" (which, by the way, is posted here), was thought up at about midnight during one of my insomniac spells. It ended up being one of my favorite works thus far. *shrugs*

^ Lol, that happens to me a lot too. I'll just be sitting there and get a completely random idea, and before you know it I'm writing away. :)
