I just read this book and it totally changes your viewpoint of indians in the 1800's. Its amazing how many indians were not really bloodthirsty, they just were getting revenge on whites for ravaging their people, land and possesions.

I've heard of this book before. I've never read it, but I just finished watching the final episode of "Into the West" on tv and I think that I might consider buying this book. Sounds interesting!

I've heard of the book, but I have never read it. I'd like to, but it's not on my immediate list, because I know alot about Indians in the past and their hardships. I've lived in one area my whole life, near an Indian reserve. Native American's are beautiful people.

The only problem is their intolerence and easy addiction to alchohol

I agree with you on some of those views, but I must say, Native Americans I've met are more tolerant than most other people I've met. (Of course if you met intolerant in a different way and I read it wrong, my mistake. :) ) They were always very accepting of my friends and I, even though we were different races and religions. They said something along the lines of
"It's the spirit that counts" :)

You mistook me. As part native american myself, I meant that they had an intolernce toward alchohol, not towards whites. However, those who are intolerent towards whites have every reason to be, for they made treaty after treaty and every single one was broken.
