The assassination of the Prime Minister had just the effect Voldemort wanted. Within hours of his death, the Ministry of Magic took a deep plunge into chaos. The Death Eaters took advantage of that. They went around amok in the heart of London, killing Muggles in their sights. The Muggles had also panicked. Create enough fear and no one will trust each other.

Hermione was sitting on Ron's couch when a small owl fell onto her lap. A letter attached to its' leg. She read the letter and her jaw dropped.

Your father and I were sitting at home when we saw several flashes of green light a few houses down. The next thing we saw was a large green serpent in the sky. You probably figured we were frightened. The next day we had learned our Prime Minister was murdered in the house under where we saw the serpent. We are alright but we thought you would like to know if you haven't already heard it on your news. The murders and mysterious sightings are all over ours. Please be safe love.

Thane watched as more sparks of green shot into the sky. "Jen. Harry. I hate to interrupt but it is no longer safe to be outdoors." She pointed towards the heavens as the Dark Mark became closer towards Surrey.

"At least let us hope Harry is safe, and I think you are right about the Minister. Without a proper leader there will be chaos on both fronts, muggle and non." Hermione stood up and looked out the window in hopes of seeing something, but of course there was nothing, no sign of hope in the bleak outdoors, she shivered at the thought.
