So much deliveries still to do and it was already getting late. She checked the adress.
'Yes, this should be it...' Eyalan whispered to herself. She walked up the lane and knocked on the door which was already open.

"Anyone ordered envelopes?!"

"I'm not sure, but it seems like I'm the only one around." Luthien smiled at the young lady standing on the porch. "Do you know who they are addressed to?"

She stepped inside and checked the adress again. Eyalan looked up to the lady.
"Let me guess. You are not mr. FoolofaTook and you didn't order any envelopes?"
She stroke through her hair, sighted in dispair and she wished she would just vanish into thin air.
"I'm sorry miss.. I'm new on the job" and at that moment the bag on her shoulder fell and the floor was filled with packages. Eyalan held her breath and dived down quickly to gather them. Her face turned red and she was scared of what her boss would say if this lady would complain.
"I'm so sorry!"

Luthien smiled and bent down to help. "Hey, don't worry about it." She gave her a knowing look, "I won't tell. Why don't you come in for a second? I just put on a pot of tea. I'll send those envelopes to Fool of a Took for you if you want."

Eyalan thought a moment about this offer. So much deliveries to take care of and so little time. But a cup of tea... She would die for a nice cup of tea at this moment.
"Thank you and I would love some tea!" she smiled and continued: "I am Eyalan by the way."

"Eyalan.That sounds familiar," pondered Luthien as she led the messenger into her brightly lit kitchen. "Do you have family in these parts?"

Eyalan looked around "You live beautiful here, if I may say so." She took of her coat and sat herself down on a kitchen chair.
"I don't have any family that I know off. I was left at the orpanage as a baby." Eyalan took a deep breath and the scence of freshly made bread filled her nose. She looked up at the lady and felt so comfortable in that kitchen it was overwhelming.

"Why thank you, Eyalan. That is very sad, my dear. However have you managed?" Luthien set two tall mugs of a strong Elvish tea on the table, followed by a plate full of fresh baked delicacies. "Do help yourself. I am well known for my chocolate chip cookies."

Eyalan thankfully took a cookie right away. "I managed.' she smirked with a mouthfull. Then she took a sip from her tea that smelled beautiful but was still a bit too hot. "And I found myself a job... but I don't think it will last long." Eyalan looked outside and it was getting darker. She was too late already she thought to herself and took another bite from her cookie. "These are delicious!"

Luthien smiled, happy that another person had enjoyed her cooking. "I'm glad you like them. I'll send some with you,if you would like." She took a sip of her tea, and watched the ground in thoughtful silence for a long moment. Then she glanced up, a queer expression on her face. "Please don't think me strange, Eyalan, but do you ever wish to be adopted still?"
