Alright, if you have the URL of the graphic, that's easier. Write this in your signature space in your profile (up on the silver bar above.) :
<img* src="URL you copied"> (Without the asterisk!!)
Then replace the "URL you copied" with the URL of the graphic. I tried it - it works. But the only way you can see it is if your HTML is not disabled.
Now if you don't have a URL for the graphic, then you'll have to upload it. Okay, first save the graphic to your desktop. Then go to either www.tinypic.com or www.photobucket.com - either will do. Then you'll have to register if you don't already have an account there. Then you click on a button that says "Browse" or something similar. Click on it . . . and then you can choose the files on your desktop that you want to upload. Then they will provide you with a URL. It's all free. You can also put into your signature space the code - they will also provide you with a code.
But just use the URL and then insert it into this : <img* src="URL you copied"> , write this in your signature space in your profile, and there you go!
Hope it works for you. If it doesn't, you can ask again on this post, or pm somebody. We're mostly a friendly forum - we'll be glad to help you.
Oh, and thanks for posting you two!

I'm sorry if my explanation was too long and complicating. Feel free to pm me if you have any more questions, or you can post again here. If it still doesn't work out for you, I'll be willing to step you through the process again until you finally get something on your signature.
Hope it all works!

Yay! It works. And you have really good banners too! If you need any help in the future, or anyone else out there, feel free to ask me, and I'll be glad to help.
(my 1000th post!)
(And I purposely made this my 1000th post, specially for this thread, the first and only one I started. I should be a Vala with just a click of that "Submit" button, and I'm going to be promoted!!!)
Have a good day, everyone.

To answer your question regarding the change of forum I must direct you to this topic: http://www.arwen-undomiel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=113
Regarding signatures: I for one have dial-up, it took about 10 minutes to load a page if each person had 5-6 banners or so like at the old forum. I am very happy I can now view each page without waiting 10 minutes or so for the page to load
Sorry If I seemed a bit direct

Well, I'm sorry that you don't like this new forum and the rules for the signatures, but it's really meant for the convenience of others I suppose. By limiting the signature to two banners and one small one and a couple of avatars, we're expediting the page loading time. The forum is really meant for posts, so that's what we should focus on, rather than the signatures.
The solution to getting all your banners into your signature without violating the forum guidelines is if you take all your banners and combine them into one single animated banner. That way, you can see all your banners only they're animated. And if you don't know how to animate your banners, then you can always post a thread in the Requests section asking somebody to animate the banners for you. Or you can ask me, and I can direct you to some people that I know who do know how to animate banners.
I hope I helped you, amidell.
As for Sidawethiel, thanks for posting the link regarding why the forum moved - I knew that such a topic existed, but I lost the URL to it before I could go check it out, so thanks for posting it up.
Like I said, I hope I helped you, and have a nice day!

What do you suggest? Perhaps the webmaster will work on that once she gets back from her week trip but suggestions will help.

A button that alerts people on which topic have new posts? Er - don't we already have something like that? I think there are little round signs before each topic at each board - if they are lit, that means that there are new posts there . . . but maybe you think that they don't help that much. Hmmm . . . it's not a problem for me, although it may be convenient for others.
Well, by the way, on the main site, the tagboard hasn't been working for days - it says that a gateway timeout has occurred, and that the server is unreachable. Due to this, the home page of the main site takes a long while for the computer to load. I heard that the tagboard site crashed, and that was why the tagboard is currently not working. I just thought that I should bring that up just in case it's only my computer that has this problem.

Yes we do have a button alert but it's a dark green and is easily looked over. I don't know if the webmaster wants to mess with that. It's trivial, really. But, we shall see.
Thanks for the heads up Elberethsq, we're currently still working that out
