Rick walked down the stairs, tying his tie as he went down. He heard voices - the Potter girls. He slowed down to quiet his steps.

"I'll talk to Rick as soon as he's up," Lillian told Marina.

"Tell me what?" he suddenly asked.

Marie screamed and fell backwards out of her chair.

Rick laughed, though quietly, so as not to embarass her. He walked over and helped her up. "What's the matter with you, Squirt?" he asked. She and Liv were the only girls in his life with that nickname.

"Don't...<i>call</i> me that!" said Mari, standing up with the help of his extended hand and pulling the hair out of her mouth, though she truthfully didn't mind the nickname, having had it since she was seven.
