I've got a quick question regarding voting. When you vote ina poll does the vote count as a post?
I've always wondered this because after you've voted it will say something about viewing your message, and usually messages will be added to your post count. :)

No, when you vote, it's not counted towards your post count.

Come on, really now --- we want posts with substance, if we give away post counts for a two clicks of the mouse, do you really think we'll get enugh posts with substance?

Well you do have the Misc. Randomness section which is practically guaranteed to be substance-less.

But, anyways.

Yeah, it's strange how it asks if you'd like to see your message.

It's not supposed to be substance-less. Though there are some games that are allowed to have one-word posts, the other threads that are there shouldn't have one-word posts or brainless posts.

Random doesn't mean substance-less. I agree that people sometimes tend to favour the substance-less threads as a way to get their posts up, but there are some very random threads in there that have content.

This isn't just directed toward you, Larael, its for everyone:

Stop looking at the post count. Not at your own, not at anyone else's. Why? Because it doesn't matter. Just because you have less posts than someone doesn't mean your opinion is less valuable than theirs or that you are in some way below them.

Everyone repeat out loud: post count doesn't matter. don't look at the post count. it doesn't matter.

[repeats]

And it's true. The only reason why I try to get as many posts as possible whilst expressing opinions or likings on subjects, it's mainly out of fun. I wouldn't revolve my time on A-U around post counts.

*continues psychiatrist chant*

^Haha!

Yes, Belle is very right, and my reasonings are the same as Kit's. It's just something I do for fun...I don't post at A-U to have the most or anything.

^Of course not!!

If people posted substantless posts just to become top posters we wouldn't even really have a forum.
