Hmmmm...I see what you're saying. Well he created orcs right? They were once elves but it's because of Melkor that they became orcs...

Dragons....they're truly frightening creatures, and when he created them they were extremely strong. i think they became a little lazy later on after they had claimed their gold hordes....but still strong!

:bye2:

Balrogs or Dragons, eh? Well it's true they're both dangerous, but the fires they breathe are said to have a possibilty of being able to melt the one ring. If that's true, testing out? No way, too hot for me! Many might agree on balrogs, though, because we see them in movies, but if you read about them, and see some drawings, and know there abilities, it may change our mind? It did to me. The Nazgul wouldn't count, those were corrupted by Sauron, and so were the fell beasts. <<Fell beasts were created I think...

So why are we comparing them anyway? Melkor/Morgoth didn't create them. Dragons are unknow though. Might have arrived in earlier days.

umm...melkor did'nt make orcs either, he breed them yes but i would not consider it his creation.as for balrogs, they were corrupted by him, but not made by him ( as Elu Thingol pointed out) and i don't think he created dragons either....nor fell beasts...so i don't understand your question

I have heard somewhere that Morgoth couldnt actually create something completely new, he could only corrupt what was already created by Iluvatar/the other Valar. But I think that among the corrupted creatures strongest must be balrogs.

Morgoth did not make Balrogs, and he did not make Orcs. He corrupted Balrogs and mutilated Elves so they became Orcs. The dragons were his most powerful tools - Who do you think was more powerful - Gothmog or Glaurung?

technically, he created the Balrogs persons as they are, he corrupted them and made them take their bodys, so technically they are his creations, as are orcs in a siilar sense

It's very confusing trying to decide if Melkor actually created anything or just corrupted things that were already made. of the things he corrupted, i can't decide between Balrogs and Dragons.

Just because he corrupted the Balrogs, he did not make them take the form they have - they chose it. All he did was corrupt them to serve him.

yes, and by corrupting them, he 'created' the persons that they became. so technically he did and he didn't. melkor only corrupted, which technically can be considered creating. look at gollum, he was "corrupted" and it "created" a different personality
