At that signal, a volley of arrows was released, and they took down most of the Witch's soldiers that were the first to persue Peter and his retreating soldiers. A few more volleys were released in succession after that, and more of them were cut down.

Evelyn watched as the archers fired the volleys, then drew her sword and went down with the others to the rocks. Immediately, as though by clockwork, someone came at her. She quickly took care of him with two moves of her swords. She looked up from the carcass and blew a strand of hair out of her eyes. They would prove to be troublesome...now to avoid His Highness. If she saw <i>him</i> - or rather <i>he</i> saw <i>her</i> - oh, boy.

Several more volleys rained down from above, though as their own numbers grew closer, the archers all lowered their bows, and watched almost helplessly.

Almost as if on cue, Peter did indeed catch sight of Evelyn, and as he neared her, his expression turned to one of anger at seeing her out here. "What do you think you'r-" he started, though an arrow suddenly struck his unicorn and he was thrown off unceremoniously, and landed hard on his back, and his helmet was knocked off his head.

"Peter!" Evelyn shouted, finishing off another one. She rushed to his side. "Are you alright?"

"I think s-OW!" Peter winced, getting to his feet. The breath had been knocked from him completely, and it even felt like he had cracked a rib or two. (Improv.! )

Evelyn sheathed her sword and took his arm. "Are you hurt?" she asked worriedly.

"Yes, but it's nothing to worry about." Peter said, then turned his head, hearing the sound of galloping rushing at them. Oreius and a rhino were charging towards the Witch's army, and as they passed, Peter shouted at them to stop. They didn't listen, however, and the rhino was first to fall, as Oreius rushed at the Witch and tried to attack her, then was turned into stone for his trouble.

Evelyn's hand flew to her mouth, but she soon realized - he <i>had</i> seen her. 'Aw, boy..I'm in for one,' she thought to herself. She saw someone coming behind him and, within seconds, had drawn her sword and killed him. (Not Peter. )

(Heh..now comes the fun part..)
After only a few minutes had passed, the battle was raging in earnest again. Many were falling on each side, though now Peter's forces were taking the brunt of the losses. And as for Peter...he found himself cutting down many, as the Witch was steadily approaching. Seeing that everything was, by now, hopeless, Peter looked around for Edmund, and once he saw him he shouted, "Edmund! Get the girls out of here, and get them home!"

(Skipping around a little, sorry..)

Edmund hesitated, but Mr. Beaver said, "Come on! You heard him!" Evelyn, who was fighting at the time, had just killed someone when Mr. Beaver tugged at her, as well. "Come <i>on</i>!" he said. Ev sighed and started off, but turned and saw the Witch turn a gryffin and a leopard to stone. She saw her moving toward Peter, and sprinted back.

"Ev-" started Edmund, but he stopped.

Evelyn stepped in front of the Witch, and soon - since they were so evenly matched in weapons - they were virtually locked in fast-paced combat.

Before much longer, however, the Witch switched tactics to more defensive, and eventually found an opening to strike with her wand, and moved quickly and turned Evelyn to stone.

Evelyn suddenly felt the smart of an arrow hit her shoulder, and hesitated - just enough to give the Witch her opportunity. She looked up just as her brown eyes turned to grey stone.

Edmund froze when he saw Evelyn go to stone. He drew his sword, eyeing that wand of hers. "Peter said get out of here!" said Mr. Beaver.

"Peter's not king yet," said Edmund. He ran forward and tried to snap her wand with his sword, but missed. She tried to get him, but missed, and he shattered the wand.

Jadis looked furious, and she quickly struck out with her sword, knocking Edmund's sword away from it's defensive position, then she stabbed him with what was left of her shattered wand.
