Felicity shook her head slightly once Evelyn stopped bustling around. "You were making me dizzy there.." she murmured with a soft laugh, before ducking behind her changing screen and changing into the dress Evelyn had picked out. "Bother, it's still too long.." she murmured, walking out from behind the screen after a minute, holding up the skirt of the dress, since it was indeed several inches too long.

Evelyn shook her head and sighed. "Well, I'll just do what Mum used to do in these cases....is there a pin around here?"

"No, I've had to use them on Lucy's dresses, and I never bothered to get anymore." Felicity said, before shaking her head again. "I'll just have to make do, and pray that I don't trip and make an idiot of myself.."

Evelyn shook her head. "Just be careful....do what the ladies in the old days used to do: pick your skirt up gracefully when you walk. They'll think it's supposed to be like that. Now for that hair of yours..." she turned her around and took it out of her updo, and began to brush it out.

Felicity sighed quietly. "Great, and I'll also have to be careful not to rip my dre-ow!" she started to say, then broke off when Evelyn found a rather nasty tangle in her hair.

Evelyn sighed exasperatedly. "Don't you <i>ever</i> brush it at night?" she asked, trying to be gentle. "Honestly, you have about as much grace as a horse on roller skates..." she said, starting to twist the now-semi-tamed hair into a nice updo.

"Well, I would brush it at night, except for the fact that I'm usually too tired to do so.." Felicity muttered, folding her arms.

"Well then you know where to find <i>me</i>..." she said, still twisting and placing hair, all the while working with pins and parts of her hairpiece. "<i>How</i> do you expect to get him to notice you, then, huh?" she asked, a smile forming on her face.

Felicity blushed furiously. "You just had to bring him up, didn't you?" she asked, sounding a little annoyed, yet embaressed.

Evelyn smiled widely behind her. "Yes, I did. Because you need to learn to at least <i>maintain</i> your hair....maybe if you took two minutes from your archery practice - though," she added quickly, "I acknowledge its importance. But <i>three hours a day</i>, Lici? Shouldn't it be Two hours and forty-five minutes?"

"No, it should be three hours. If it's anything less, I'd have to give more time, and take time, from other things, and I've just got my 'schedule'.." at that, she pulled a slight face, "to where I can take care of everything I need to do.."

"Suit yourself," said Evelyn, shrugging and finishing off her hair. "Ah, there...that oughta do it. Go look in the mirror." She knew that eveyone liked her to do their hair - she made it look nice but not showy, elegant but not tawdry, tacky, or over-the-top.

Felicity lifted the hem of her dress and went to the full-length mirror nearby, and her eyes widened slightly at how different she looked.."Whoa.."

Evelyn came up behind her, smiling. "See?! NOW will you let me do your hair more often? You see, there's a reason Susan calls me to her chambers before every event."

"Yes..now I see.." Felicity admitted quietly, still looking surprised. "I look...older now.."

"Yes, you actually look fourteen instead of twelve," she said, chuckling and patting her shoulder. "Now, as for what we need to do to prepare the Hall..."
