Well, in fact there is a whole area committed to graphics here at AU, just go to the Requests section, where you can volunteer your services or ask someone (nicely) to make you a banner, avatar, etc. Also, right below it there is another area where people post tips, instructions and suggestions on graphics making. I hope that helps!
