^There was the theory of Wormtail's silver hand but JKR said that is not happening.

I'm still rather miffed that Harry Potter 3 didn't explain the things about the Mauraders.

Yeah!
I though that in the scene in where Lupin finds out that Harry has the map, he was going to tell him something, but it didn't happen. Also in the Shrieking Shack Scene

Hmm... that's true. Getting rid of Tonks would put the Order at a disadvantage. But she is more a side character then others. Yet, it would go along with the theory of JKR trying to get rid of everyone Harry can get dependence from, I mean, besides the obvious, his friends. But it just doesn't seem to fit in my mind, killing off Tonks I mean.
About Remus killing Peter, could happen, but seeing as how JKR abandoned the silver hand theory and was willing to say that it wouldn't happen, I don't think she's aiming in that direction at all. It would be to expected; and knowing JKR, she has this all planned out, and so far, has been quite unexpected.
lol! Thanks so much Kitoky and Vivi!

I wonder if Remus can remember what he does as an actual werewolf...

I don't think that Harry really depends on Tonks it's Lupin that he depends on. I don't think she's going to kill anyone else though for that reason. Harry made it clear at the end of the last book that he was going to stand alone now.
I also don't really see Lupin killing Peter unless it was in the middle of a battle. I know when he first found out about Peter he wanted to kill him but I don't think Lupin's the kind of guy who would want to take revenge like that.

I agree with you Elanor. He doesn't seem the type of killing for revenge.

Quote: I wonder if Remus can remember what he does as an actual werewolf... I wonder that too. I read a book in which the werewolf couldn't remember what he did in his wolf form. I'll try to remember the book... Quote: Harry made it clear at the end of the last book that he was going to stand alone now. I agree with that. Harry no longer wants to put anyone else in danger and that is why he also left Ginny for the time being. Quote: I don't think Lupin's the kind of guy who would want to take revenge like that.
Me niether. If he was, don't you think he would have done somewhat more towards the whole "James and Lily's death thing?" Like confronted Sirius or something, since at the time everyone was under the missconception that Sirius was the murderer.

Yeah I don't think he can. Cause with the Wolfsbane Potion (?) he becomes a wolf with a mind, so then wouldn't it make sense that when he's a werewolf he doesn't have like his own mind so how could he remember? That's just me though.
I didn't even think bout the silver hand thing. But I wasn't really meaning revenge. Just as like a coincidence. Cause I think for some reason all the Mauraders will somehow die by the end of the book.
Yeah Harry wants to stand alone. But Hermione and Ron will be there with him, cause they wouldn't let him go at it alone.

Yeah, I think Tanth is right --- Wolfsbane causes the person to still have his mental stability even though he is in werewolf form. This way, the person has some control over his actions and less likely to hurt anyone. Remus would never hurt anyone!
About Remus and his likeliness to take revenge... Well, the books for sure, Remus would never kill someone unless it was of self-defense or to save someone he cared about. [Tonks? Harry?]
They made him a bit more aggressive in the movie, I think --- even though I fell in love with David Thewlis's Remus which was just the epitome of adorable (what a sad tired smile!). His wand-pointing near the end with Sirius was really only just of playfullness now that he knew that Peter Pettigrew was still alive. Lupin now knew that Sirius couldn't've have committed the crime that he was accused of --- I think there was small evidence that Lupin said that he believed that Sirius had done it (but he was still trying to wrap his mind around it).
Poor Remus! Now he's the only GOOD Marauder left!

I also don't think that Remus can remember what he does. His mind becomes that of an animals when he transforms. And if it were that he could remember what he does when he transforms, don't you think he would remember who is friends are when he is in wolf form and thus not having them become illegal animagus? I don't think he can really remember what he does.
About some peoples theory of "all the Marauder's will be killed in the end", I don't see the point or the need. I mean, Harry clearly stated at the end of book six that he is going to do this on his own and doesn't want to put anyone else in danger, besides his two best friends who refuse to leave his side.
I myself thought he was well portrayed in the movie (unlike Sirius. Gary Oldman is way older then Sirius is in the book at the time of PoA. So did not fit in my op), but looked a little older then I imagined. Nor did I think he was aggresive. He played the role calmly and well. But I go more by the book then anything.
