Welcome, Seti! And I don't mind big posts....I enjoy them a lot, though I myself can find it a little difficult to get big ones while not manipulating other people's characters.
Taarin is a more Forest-and-plains planet, like a combination of Naboo and Endor, albeit with smaller trees. It's not really marshy, and it's only got a few places on it that could even be close to being classified as 'Desert-like'. It's inhabitants are human.
*grumbles* Bureacracy...it can be so trying at times.
Sahrai grinned at Viree's response. "I've got to go alert the Taarin government about our officially taking a side in this war. You can come along if you wish, or you can go and get your wound looked at while you have a chance. I'll be around, though." He left the room, calling up na'Tatha on his comlink. "Subcommander, the Jedi have now taken a side in this war. We are backing you up. A team of highly-trained commandoes is on its way in. I'd like to ask if you could accompany us, as you know the Maedan better than we do. We're going to take out the source of the hatred I told you about earlier, which I have a feeling will also do a lot in terms of pacifying the Maedan again. I have to go inform Y'Garam and di'Tonoro of our actions now, but I expect we'll be leaving before long." He ended the transmission, knowing she'd contact him later with her response, and he didn't want to rush her. He contacted di'Tonoro and Y'Garam next, asking if they could meet him shortly, for an uncertain amount of time. After a few minutes, he arrived in the designated conference room and found them already waiting. Unsure of what their reaction would be, he laid out his decision, and hoped for the best. "You say you speak for the Jedi in this," y'Garam said, "How do we know that they would all think this way, even on just the Council? Not that we are dissatisfied with your decision," he added quickly. Sahrai sighed. "We are all trained with certain...morals, I guess you can say. It's vital, to determine which side is in the right. I know for a fact that the Jedi Council, and indeed, the majority of the Jedi, would agree with me in my decision." He fought the urge to scratch and itch on the back of his head. It would hardly be very somber-looking. "Not to offend you, but I might very well have left this matter to the New Republic politicians and military, if it weren't for the fact that I think that there is a Force-user behind it, and as a Jedi, it is my duty to find out who, or what, it is, since it means us great harm." He left the room around fifteen minutes later, still unsure of the politician's reactions. He paused as he felt a Force-presence reach out tentatively from the Hangar bay. A friendly presence, and familiar. "Who sent Seti here?" Sahrai wondered to himself as he strode towards the hangar. Of course, he was hardly discontent with the other Jedi's arrival - another ally would be a great asset.

Viree13 smirks slightly and decides to follow Sahrai, deciding that whatever he's doing is bound to be way more interesting than going to some stuffy old doctor....

"And your decision, Subcommander?"
na'Tatha hesitated, then let out an inaudible sigh of relief as her commlink began beeping again. "General, my apologies, but I'll have to contact you later. I have an urgent transmission coming in." Cutting off their channel, she accepted the priority call. "na'Tatha here."
"Subcommander, this is Y'Garam. di'Tonoro and I would like you to step over to Conference Room Twelve for a few minutes."
"On my way, sir." Back in her duty uniform, na'Tatha made her way through the labyrinth of halls to the frosted glass-walled conference room.
"Ah, Subcommander." Y'Garam leaned back in his chair and steepled his fingers. "There have been several new developments." A datapad beeped, and he bent down to look at it. "For one thing, two more Maedan missiles have been shoot down in the high atmosphere over this city. Our wartime defenses are running at full capacity. Second, security has reported the arrival of yet another Jedi ..." he looked at her sharply, but she kept her face impassive. "...which undoubted falls under your responsibility. And third, we've just had an interesting little interview with the leader of the delegation, Master Faradej."
"He informed me that he would request my services on a mission, sir."
"Correct. And his team is now clearly on our side, which gives it legitimacy with the New Republic, so there will be no question about who has been the aggressor here. Now, honestly, Subcommander, what do you think of his claim that there is some 'dark Force' behind this? You've been around the Jedi the most - is this legitimate?"

Sahrai and Viree reached the hangar, where Seti was standing near his ship. Striding across the floor, Sahrai stopped in front of the newly-arrived Jedi. "Welcome, old friend. It's good to see you, though I hadn't known you were coming. Who sent you?"

Viree13 stands to the side, even though she knows the Jedi, she was never on good terms with him. He hated her for leaving the Jedi Order.....
(I hope it's okay that I'm inserting this tad bit of past...... Will that work for the new character?....)

Let's give him another day, and then we'll continue. If he hasn't posted by then, then I guess will revert to my last post before we went to the hangar.

Thanks, Luinnar. It's from the cover of Betrayal in the Legacy of the Force mini-series. I really want to read it.
*reverting to having just left the meeting*
Sahrai sighed. He hated meetings, and they didn't get better over time. "Do you have what you'll need for our mission?" he asked Viree, knowing that his equipment was packed up in his suite. His lightsabers were hanging from his belt right now, since he didn't want to have the extra weight on his arms at the time. "I'm expecting a response from subcommander na'Tatha soon as to whether she will accompany us or not," he added, "so I'll be sticking around here for a little while."

Viree13 shrugs. "Ialways come prepared.... I've got what I need, even if you can't see it...." She smirks, ignoring the pain in her side.....

(Sorry for the absence - I was busy being chewed up and spat out by finals)
na'Tatha sat thoughfully, knowing that Y'Garam valued her judgement. "Sir," she finally began, "we all have our areas of expertise. Yours is overall strategy and defense; mine is diplomacy and special ops. The Jedi claim expertise in manipulation of their Force."
"Go on." He was listening carefully, knowing she was laying down a foundation for her argument.
"For a team to function effectively, there must be mutual trust among the members - confidence that each one can respond appropriately to a matter in their area of expertise. The question, then, is not whether the Jedi understand the Force; it is an issue of the existence of the Force. If it does exist, we have no reason to doubt the Jedi. However, if it does not, then we must conclude that they are following their own hidden agenda."
Y'Garam stood and began pacing the room. "I'll admit that I hadn't expected this to digress into a philosophical debate."
"Your opinion, sir?"
"By all accounts, this Force has played a significant role in the founding of the New Republic and the careers of certain Jedi heroes."
na'Tatha nodded. "Personally, I have seen nothing to contradict this existance, and reliable sources do regard it as a verifiable phenomenon." Remembering the brief disturbance during the Maedan talks, she added, "I believe I have seen Master Faradej utilize it in combat."
"So for now we shall assume that the Force does indeed exist."
"Which in turn means that, at least for now, the judgement of the Jedi is to be trusted, and there is indeed something unexpected behind the Maedan attacks." The subcommander stood, then hesitated. "There is one other thing, sir."

Viree13 looks over her shoulder, then looks back at Sahrai. "I still feel like something's wrong.... Ever since the failed conference, something's been nagging me.... Can't you feel it too?.... Something from the inside?...."
