Okay there may be a real plant called Athelas and I'm being stoopid (lol) but does anyone know which flower Peter Jackson used to represent the ATHELAS plant that Aragorn uses to heal Frodo? I'm getting mightily confused!

I've often wondered that myself... it's such a pretty little flower they have! But I also wonder if maybe they actully might have used nice silk flowers they made themselves...

I don't think they'd use silk flowers, Arsa. But as for what they DID you, I don't have a clue. I've found a plant that has similar qualities to the description in the book-it's on a comp packed away right now, though - but as for what they used, I'll betcha it's some native New Zealand plant.

I remember they said something about it on the appendicies discs of the EE DVDs and they were New Zealand native flowers I think

Here is one I found, but it doesnt look quite right.

They could also be white forget-me -nots (they are the right shape).
I ran several searches on wildflowers, NZ, ROTK flora, and checked a few genus and species. The White Hebe and the Forget-me-nots were the beat I could come up with.
There goes a term of botony out the window...

No, it wasn't either. It was bigger than forget-me-nots and it was on the ground and had quite round leaves. I know I've seen it somewhere, but I don't know where.

I listened to some of the commentary and I think they mentioned the flowers were actually silk flowers!! that way they could design them the way they wanted to

I agree It would be easier use silk flowers than real ones.
