Jack grumbled some more horrid things under his breath. Then suddenly a sugar cane happened to land in his cage. Jack raised an eyebrow and smiled slightly as an idea popped into the Captain's head.
He gripped hold of it and whacked it a few, good hard times across the iron bars making it chip itself into a sharp point. Then, ignoring the irritating slaves Jack slid his arm around towards the lock and started picking at it with the sugar cane.
This carried on for some time, and when his plan seemed to be lost Jack heard a....CLICK!

anamaria looked around seeing jack was missing she,walked over to Devina and asked "where be Jack ?"she looked concerened and sort of mad at the sametime but her tone was calm

Portia raised an eyebrow and slowly sat down, like she had asked. She set the bread that she had, down on the table. She wasn't sure of the whole situation that was at hand, but she would most definitely stay and listen to what it was.

Devina seemed to have forseen the interuption- but being an old dear maybe she had just tipped on another of the crew turning up. She smiled pleasantly and briefly closed her strange eyes. WIth a sigh she opend them again.

There was a great cry as nearly all the slaves took off after Jack, their footsteps kicking up clouds of dust. They were pointing and screaming, as if this was a rare hunt, which they savoured aboslutely.
