Background: She grew up with her parents who are also centaurs. They lived very isolated, but at the age of 16 her parents decided that it was time to leave home and to set a foot in the world. Now, she is already a year away from home, walking in the world, caring for herself.

LOOKS LIKE: Long black hair always in plaits, glasses, small, hard-blue eyes, lithe and small, normally wears a plain or lightly pattened blouse, knee-length skirt, high-socks and black patent clark shoes.
TEMPER: Very clever but very sarcastic, clever.
HISTORY: Lives with her parents on the richer side of town. She is a natural loner but loves a challenge. She has a scar on her left hand from a falling lampost, which kiled her twin brother, Judas.

Name: Alyra [All-LEER-rah] Windsong (about 17 or 18)
Race: Half-human, half bird (like a siren in Greek mythology )
Appearance: A bird from the waist down, and enormous wings at the shoulder blades (but not replacing arms). Feathers come up to make a "shirt" for her front. Long brown hair and blue eyes. (Her feathers are mostly blue, too.) Like all her kind, she has an enchantingly beautiful voice, but does not use it to lure the unwary into danger. Although kind and helpful, however, there is still a streak of wildness in her.
History: When her mother (Lysara Starflight) was a young siren, a sailor was drawn to the cliff where she was singing. (Contrary to popular belief, these sirens don't mean for people to crash while listening to them. ) The mariner's name was Bardan Waterbourne (whom Alyra resembles), and Lysara married him. Several years ago, on a voyage at Sea, Bardan disappeared, and Lysara flew off to look for him, leaving their two daughters to live in London.


Name: Tamyrie [TAMM-mur-ree] Waterbourne (sister of Alyra)
Race: Human (About 11)
Appearance: Long black hair, mischevious green eyes, fair skin, freckles. She wishes she had wings like her sister, but sometimes Alyra takes her on flights.
History: She used to sail with her father while Alyra flew somewhere nearby with their mother (whom Tamyrie resembles), but now she lives with Alyra in London.

Susan sat lone in the library, slowly turning the pages of her book. Her eyes swallowed the words, like an addiction. This was her only escape from the pain of her brothers death. It still hit her heart every day, every minute. She quickly wiped a tear from her face, pushing her plaits behind her shoulders. She liked being alone, or so she thought, but secretly she longed for the human company, being alone made her remember, remember that which no one else understood, especially not her parents, they grieved to but they weren't there, they didn't have nightmares every night, every though, Judas was still there. It pained her, but she wouldn't let herself forget, she couldn't. She curled up tighter in the large armchair, pushing the book off her lap. She walked out of the library, the hard gaze of the librarian baring down on her back. She ran down the street, bumping hardly into anyone that stod in her way. The grief welled up inside her until it spilled out and she broke down, hiding her face to the glares and faced the brick-wall...

Sarla sat solumnly on the wall facing the London street, It was her favourite sport, people-watching. But it wasn't just she watching them, she liked the looks they gave her, the envious glares of the ugly wives and the try-hards and the suggestive eye-ups of the men. She like the attention, it gave her confidence. She saw everything. The old women shopping and hobbling along the street, muttering under their breathes, the young men, interested in their latest arm-candy striding out tall and proud and the young children playing in the street, not a care in the world. They were wring, things were changing, she had no clue whether it was for the best or not, but she felt the mirage. Nothhing was ever going to be the same. It amazed her that they couldn't feel it, was it ignorance or where they really that behind? She examined her long fingers, ending in pearly fingernails. She loved the roseyness of the skin, the tautnes s of the skin, the slenderness of the digits. She jumped of the wall walking down the street, she saw the amnesty of the walk-way. The shops amazed her, so full of goodness. She settled on the bench folding her long shapely legs and slowly relaxed. So much business to sort out, she couldn't cope and yet she loved the pressure, it motivaterd her, she planned it all out in her mind...

Rena sat in a dark alley, waiting for night to come, even though it was morning. Day was too dangerous for her, to many humans out. Too bad she couldn't get rid of her wings. She sat on a one trash can, reading the only book she had over, and over again. The book happened to be about eagles, and she was half-eagle...
