"Great, cannons they have cannons." Margaret said annoyed. But when she saw Jack almost slide of the bed she took the mattress and slid it off so it landed on the floor with a thud. "Better, know you won't fall off the bed." She said with a dry laugh.

Jack faked a smirk, then forced himself to sit up, "I want to go and see...." He gripped hold of a desk and pushed himself to a standing position. He cringed over the pain then repeated, "I want to go and see..."

Yet the cannons began to quiet down as the Pearl slipped out of their reach to the open seas and into the night, the french didn`t seem to be too keen on chasing them as they had some wounded of their own and chasing one pirate ship wasn`t too recommendable in the end.

Some pirates were reorganizing things, some were laying on the ground in pain and they were helped. It seemed everyone had gotten off with some bruises and broken bones except for few. Flip was one of those few, he currently had a nasty looking splinter of woods sticking out of his left shoulder.

He grinned in pain as he slipped down the stairs to the main deck.

Margaret listened a second. "I think we are in the clear." She took Jack and helped him onto the deck. "We made it, no more French."

"Yea, no more french, but wooden sticks instead" Flip said as he sat on the stairs and pulled off the stick that was in his shoulder. He looked at Margaret with an bitter and angry face, he blamed the stupid brat for all of this, if she hadn`t been there they would have never gone after Jack.

Margaret was the only reason Flip had to suffer and that Flip would remember one day, if he could pay back.

Margaret sat Jack down by Flip before going to check on the Pirates that were wounded, That was one thine she truely was good at, being a nurse. 'Or being a woman.' She thought sourly, she knew part of what shehad said to Jack about her and Flip was a lie, and she wanted to show him she was good at being more then just a pirates 'brat' daughter.

Flip got his wound patched with the help of another pirate, he looked at Jack quietly and then at Margaret. Flip smirked slightly and leaned back in the stairway.

"You know kid, I don`t blame you for trying to protect her.... yet from now on I promise that, if you two get me into a same kind of trouble again I swear I will skin you both no matter what..."

Jack looked up at Flip with tired eyes. "Don't worry...I only protected her for the reward..." A smirk settled on his face and he looked away.

Flip hmped and slapped his hand on the shoulder of Jack.

"She doesn`t seem to think so... nor do I..."

Flip said before getting up and returning to his normal duties.

Margaret came back with some blood on her clothes. "Feeling better Jack?" she asked.

Jack sneered as Flip walked away. The idiot had slapped him on his wounds and it didn't feel good. Jack mumbled stuff under his breath that was best not to be repeated.

Jack then heard Margaret's voice and he looked up, "Fine..bloody fine..." He looked away.

Margaret sat down with Jack, and looked him over. He looked like when they first met now. She turned to the sky. "I never said this yet, but I am glad I have a real friend closer to my age now." she turned and gave him a smile. "I hope we can be like this way, friends, for a long time."

Jack looked at Margaret and flashed a smirk revealing another one of his gold teeth. "If that's what ye consider me, I can take that..."

Jack stood up slowly, "Now, if ye'll excuse me,...I want some fresh air, savvy?" With that he started walking up the stairs to the upper deck with much difficulty I might add.

Margaret smiled. Maybe her dream did mean something. she got up ans walked to the bow. She looked down into the water, it always mezmorized her. She loved the Pearl, it was a complete ship save for one thing. It didn't have a figure head. Maybe some day, if her dream came true, she and Jack could get one. She could picture one in her mind, a maiden with wavey hair and flowing gown holding her hands out with a Sparrow. She sighed and turned to look at jack who was by the wheel now.

Jack leaned up against the wheel. He fingered the grooves in the smooth black wood. He smirked picturing himself as Captain. "Captain, Captain Jack Sparrow.." he whispered to himself. It had a nice ring to it.

((Did you like the comment with the figure head. I like the comment Jack made.))

Margaret started walking back to Jack. She smiled at his as she climbed the steps. "Ever stir before, Jack." She asked getting closer to him. He was 15, she remembered him saying, a good age for her to be friends with.
