Hi...I'm Meldawen....as might be apparent from, you know, the name over there...and just in case you wanted to know, "Meldawen" is "Melda" (my elvish RL name) with 'wen' added, because, well, I wanted to add a wen. I've been kinda reading the topics for new users, and I figured I shouldn't obsess over it anymore, just go ahead and post. Because they all say to do that. So - here I am, posting on the forums I finally joined because that Summer 2006 Revival sounded fun  Oh yeah, and can anyone help me out with how to get an avatar up there? I have an Apple Mac 10.4 and I'm still learning how to use it so I'm kinda lost! _________________

Hey Meldawen!  Welcome to A-U! I'm glad you joined -- this Summer Revival will be fun, I'm sure.
I'm Gwenneth, but most call me Gwen for short. My name is also my real name in elvish. 
To get an avatar up, go to your profile and click on Show Gallery at the bottom of the page. There, you can choose any LotR avatar made by Arwen the webmaster.
Also, if you wish to use a different kind of avatar, you can paste the URL of it in the Link To Off-Site [or something like that  ]. But make sure you first save the avatar to your own server such as Photobucket.
That probably didn't make much sense, I apologize.  But I'm sure another welcomer will come here and explain it crystal clear.

Welcome. How you get you avatar is
1.you go to your profile and go to the bottom and you will see something that says show Gallary
2.you click on it and chose your avatar
3.and then when you chose your avatar you press submit to save it. But only chose one avatar!!!
And agian welcome to the forum you will have fun here!!!

Wow, you must be psychic, I was just going to mention that you know, Mel is easier to type than Meldawen and I don't actually object to nicknames, so sure, go ahead! I think I must be known as Mel in every forum I participate in!
