"You were so ill prepared that you didn't even bring a map?" she demanded as Wayreth dissolved around them.
Ghyreian dismounted and rummaged through her pouches. She found a map of Abanasinia and spread it out on the grass. She pointed. "Presuming the forest didn't drop us too far away from where we were, the sound of running water I hear is the River White Rage." She sniffed the air, studied her surroundings carefully. "I smell aspenwood. We are very close to Qualinesti. Too close for my comforts. In fact...." She rolled up her map, mounted Nightshadow swiftly. "We must leave at once. We are not welcome here - "
"Indeed you are not," said a cool voice behind her. "I would also like to ask how in the name of E'li you got past our borders unscathed."
Elven archers dropped from the trees silently, making noise no louder than the whisper of a gentle breeze. They lifted their bows, nocked their arrows. In a matter of seconds they had the mages surrounded.
One of the elves, a slender warrior, stepped forward. He was tall, his bearing regal.
Ghyreian recognized him immediately from certain dealings many years ago. Inwardly, she boiled with suppressed fury. But she did well to hide her feelings.
The lead elf gestured. "You are to come with us. Any word of magic and you will suddenly find fifty arrows each embedded in your bodies." He turned to Ghyreian, noted her elven heritage and the color of her robes, and his lip curled in disdain. His gaze flicked to the human she was with. He eyed him with equal, if not more, contempt.
Ghyreian smiled. "Greetings, Porthios. I believe we've met before. An old friends reunion, shall we call it."
Porthios's face hardened. His gaze shattered his outward calm. Apparently, he had recognized her. Turning his heel, he strode into the forest, and his captives could do nothing but follow.

(sure! that`s fine by me....it`s up to you...)
Edwin cursed the forest for dropping them off in such an ideal place for getting cauht by elves, ecspecially when Ghyreian was a dark elf and he just happened to carry something, that wouldn`t bring many symphaties up. They were taken trough the forest and Edwin sensed an unrest there like something was about to happen. He talked to Ghyreian after looking around for while.
"What a nice place to drop us of ecspecially when your people are here pointing arrows at out hearts!" Edwin mumbled with an angry tone and continued slightly calmer tone" I wouldn`t hesitate to put a dagger trough, that porthioses heart for a second, if I wasn`t pointed with an arrow."
They arrived to the magnifisent city of qualinosti where the buildings praised the nature and elves lived the happy long lives, they got everyone`s attention as they were escorted to the doors of a huge tower. Edwin sighed knowing, that this wouldn`t be one of those happy reunion`s or decisions in Ghyreian`s life. Edwin couldn`t feel slight satisfaction for the fact, that he didn`t have a home or a particular place where his peoplee lived. Human`s were all over so death of some didn`t bother him at any point, but elves on the other hand....

"I wouldn`t hesitate to put a dagger trough, that porthioses heart for a second, if I wasn`t pointed with an arrow."
Ghyreian cast him an amused look but said nothing. She had no love for Porthios herself, but she sensed he was a part of some grand design. "So, is this some joke you've played to get yourself a laugh, my queen?" she muttered bitterly. "If so, nobody is laughing!"
But even when she cursed the Dark Queen for her cruel trick, her heart ached as her eyes fell on the lovely aspens that sang the song of the woodland, the white birds that soared through the skies and alighted upon the rooftops of the homes of the elves they loved. The Tower of the Sun, catching the sunlight and turning it to liquid gold, stood before them, reminding her painfully of the Tower of the Stars in Silvanost. It pained her to see the elves that stood on the streets shoot contemptuous glances at her, than turn quickly away as if the sight of her tainted their pureness. It pained her even as she silently cursed them and doomed them to Nuitari.
Porthios led them to the outside of the Tower of the Sun, then commanded for his archers to wait. He strode into the Tower alone to ask an audience with his father, the Speaker of the Sun.
Ghyreian exchanged grim glances with Edwin. Whatever awaited them, it was not to their favor.

Edwin sat down on small bench and went trough his equipment trying to find his pipe while waiting for the permission to enter, if any came actually, but he couldn`t feel disturbed for Ghyreian coming here. The one of the few places where she was banned from was ironicly her home and the other elven lands. Edwin had one home where he had spent his hole life, a wagon pulled by 2 horses and what came to family only his parents, who travelled the world selling what they could, but soon they would be too old to travel and they would settle down. Edwin of course never could settle down, he was raised travelling and he would die travelling, but of course with travelling came new sources of power. After a while Porthios came back from the Tower of sun and had a strict look on his face.
"The speaker of sun will accept you in and if you do anything suspisious you`ll find arrows in your body enough, that you can`t count them before you die."
Edwin smiled sensing something in this elf now, that he hadn`t felt before because he now feared the death of his father if these 2 mages decided to get violent. Edwin got up and with a smile on his face he walked next Ghyreian.
"Ladies first..."
He waited for Ghyreian to walk into the tower and the hall where the speaker of sun waited them.

Ghyreian entered the vast hall. Her first impression was entering the heavens themselves. The hall caught the sun so it was magnified into a dazzling aura of light. The ceiling high above them was crafted into a glittering mosaic of the skies.
At the end of the hall, seated on a tall throne, was the Speaker of the Sun, surrounded by his bodyguards. Porthios stood at his father's right. A slender, forbidding woman in White Robes at the Speaker's left reached to whisper something in his ear. She watched the her fellow mages' every move with piercing blue eyes.
From afar the Speaker had looked magnificent and imposing in his exquisite robes of fine silk. But as Ghyreian neared, she saw that his face was weary and careworn, showing signs of age most elves never endured. This was not surprising, considering that his people were preparing to flee their beloved homeland, his son was on a suicide mission with a group led by a *beep* half-breed, and his lovesick daughter had gone chasing after the half-breed in question.
Ghyreian made a mocking bow. "My lord," she greeted smoothly. Porthios scowled. The White Robed elf frowned at her sarcasm and moved a step closer to her king.
Solostaran rose. Porthios put a hand on his father's arm as if to help steady him, then proclaimed loudly, "These mages have used some ill-bred magic to cross our borders unscathed. They must die immediately."
The Speaker sighed, and spoke softly to his son. With a disapproving glare, Porthios quieted. The Speaker turned to his prisoners. "Tell me how you got across the border," he commanded in stern tones.

Edwin began to laugh slightly at the elves getting furious looks, he laughed quiet to himself in the covers of his hood and then looked up with an amused look on his face.
"We didn`t actually never cross your borders elves...we were dropped of in the middle of your forest, if you wish to blame someone you must go to speak with Par Salian Wayreth, because wayreth`s forest is how we got here.." Edwin smiled "Is that enough?"

Porthios's thin mouth grew even thinner as his brows contracted alarmingly. The White Robe started. The Speaker merely stood, looking grave. The White Robed wizardess whispered something in his ear again, to which the Speaker listened but irritably waved aside. The wizardess grew more urgent. Ghyreian caught the words "Par-Salian" and "contact." At last the Speaker nodded. "Very well." He turned to his prisoners. "You will remain in Qualinost under guard until we have matters sorted out." His face wearied even more as he said this. Apparently there were many matters to be "sorted out."

Edwin and Ghyreian were escorted out of the room, they were taken outside the tower to house where they were guarded every moment to which Edwin laughed out of pure amusement. He sat down and began reading his books while Ghyreian was doing something which he didn`t care for but only knew, that it was painful to see the other beatiful homeland of her people alltough she was an dark elf, it didn`t mean that she didn`t love the place or it`s tree`s. Edwin read his book silently on a small bench for something to happen sa they were "guests"

**this is getting kind of boring do you mind if I spice it up a little?
Ghyreian stood rigid, refusing to sit or lower her guard. Blast Wayreth. Blast Par-Salian. Blast the elves. Name of the gods, what unfortunate turn of fate had brought her to the second-to-last place on Krynn she wanted to be? She watched her long-time companion, short-time friend, serenly reading his book on the leaf-strewn ground. Blast Edwin! Could he not see that they were in danger every second now? And here he was, reading his book so indifferently....
Ghyreian's fist clenched. Her nails punctured her skin and drew blood. She blotted out all sight and scent of delicate aspenwoods out of her mind and tried to think up a plan.
She didn't even bother considering normal the corridors of magic. No doubt the elven wizardess had enchanted the grove to keep that from happening.
Her hand strayed to her pouch, where her powerful amulets and talismans were held. The pouch had been cursed so that anyone other than their mistress who touched it would either die a most agonizing death or go mad. She had many transportation spells, though she cautioned against trying them. The White Robe would not make the mistake of not considering this.... Yet what worse position could she be in? She could either use her precious artifact or die. And if using her artifact meant dying, at least she died of her own accord, trying to escape, rather than die at the hands of the cousins of her people.
The artifact could only carry one person. Her gaze strayed to Edwin. Leave him, her mind sneered without hesitation, without compassion. What is a pitiful human to me? I owe him nothing. No longer....
But the voice of the heart was sometimes stronger than that of the mind. He is your companion, paired by Par-Salian....
Despite this, in the end the mind dominated. It had dominated for decades, ever since she had been cast from her beloved homeland in shame and despair. She bore the marks of the cruelty of her soul upon her face.
But then something happened that utterly banished her choice of abandoning Edwin or not. It came in the form of a kender.
One moment Ghyreian saw nothing out of the ordinary, the next moment he was there. A spell had thrown itself at her lips before she stopped in complete bewilderment and consternation.
The kender, holding a strange sort of contraption in his hand and looking quite breathless, caught hold of Ghyreian's robes without the faintest trace of fear and said excitedly, "You would never believe what happened! I saw the end of the world and we went to Solace only it wasn't Solace anymore, it was just a gray field. Of course it was all Raistlin's doing, except I suppose I shouldn't call him that anymore because he's a god now. And I saw Astinus at Wayreth and Par-Salian glued to a marble statue, which was one of the most interesting things I've ever seen. But then Caramon said we had to go back in time to stop Raistlin so we..." A look of surprise suddenly crossed the kender's face. "Speaking of Caramon, where is he? He's not usually the sort to go wandering off like that, though I must admit he would be nowhere without me." The kender looked around in alarm, his topknot bouncing. "I thought we would activate the time-traveling device and go back in time to stop Raistlin together."
Suddenly one of the elves crossed over and siezed the kender roughly. "Where did you come from?" he demanded.
The kender, apparently undisturbed, went on cheerfully, "Hello. My name's Tasslehoff Burfoot. My, you're an elf! How very exciting!"

Edwin looked at the kender in amazement and then slapped his forehead able to spit out few words, because if there was anything he hated it was Kenders.
"What in the name of Lunitari happened?" Edwin would have wanted to blast the kender away at that second.
The elves came and Edwin cursed, if this Kender had time travelled then he should be back where he should be and not here, because the consequenses could be catastrophic. Edwin got up and approached the Kender.
"If you happen to be from another time then you should leave right now...back where you came because you might disturb the time.."
Edwin was of course lying to this kender, but he hadn`t got the time for this or being stuck in Qualinosti, because he wanted Verminaad`s head on a silver plate.

The kender caught note of Edwin. "Hello, how are you? My name's - " Suddenly he let out a frantic yelp of pain. Ghyreian, catching on immediately, deftly snatched back her pouch and strung it once again on her waist.
"That was NOT nice," Tas was saying sternly. "You should be glad I found it for you or you would have lost it."
"I am very grateful," Ghyreian returned sardonically. "Though I would not advise trying that again."
Tas, not taking the offense at all, turned back to Edwin. "Where was I? Oh yes - " That was when two of the elven guards caught hold of his arms. They were murmuring fervently in Elvish, and by their tones they seemed at the most troubled.
Ghyreian, listening intently, grasped their words.
"...how a kender got across our borders. We would have known...."

Edwin smiled at sat back to his studies acting as, if that kender never appearred and began reading. He looked around and looked for elven guards, then he smiled at Ghyreian.
"Now that wacky kender is away and soon we will have our judgement or something like that I believe we can begin our journey towards Pax Tharkas to chop, that Verminaad`s head of for Par Salian..."
He read spoke without raising his eyes at Ghyreian.

The elven guards, exhibiting grave faces, began advancing towards the kender. Tas backed against an aspen. A bead of sweat trickled down his forhead. "I have a very good friend who's an elf, you know. His name's Tanis Half-Elven. Have you heard of him? Oh yeah and there was Laurana."
Ghyreian noticed him fumbling for something. Tas began muttering. The elves, sensing something was wrong, hastily fell back. Ghyreian caught a flash of jewels in the kender's hand. Could it be...? She clearly felt the magic emanating from it. She had come across books telling of the Device at Wayreth. She would have recognized it in a second. Yet how had it fallen into...?
No matter. A kender with any magical artifact, nevermind the Device of Time Journeying, could be disastrous. She lunged forward, made a grab for the jeweled artifact. The kender danced nimbly away, tripping over Edwin's staff.
What happened next seemed to go in slow motion. Edwin wrenched his staff protectively away, flinging Tasslehoff into Ghyreian, who stumbled and landed on top of Edwin. Tas clung to the magical Device, fumbling with the gears and jewels frantically as elven archers dropped from the trees and nocked their arrows. He began chanting the spell under his breath. Then they heard one ominous word.
"Oops!"
Ghyreian had a jerking feeling, as if she were being sucked from the ground and tunneling through the corridors of magic. She remembered a falling sensation, then blackness.

Edwin felt strange like floating in the air with a levitation spell, but not quite that and he fell deeper with the two, kender and Ghyreian. Edwin cursed the kender for even showing up and suddenly cursed the pain in back when they hit a floor. Edwin climbed up cleaning his robes and took up his staff looking around.
"Where in the name of Lunitari are we?"
