Portia looked around the room, still freaked out. Jack and Devina had left down the hall quite a bit ago. She sighed deeply and folded her arms. She heard pounding at the door and her eyes widened. "JACK! WE 'AVE COMPANY, MATE!" She got out her pistol, getting ready to fire it as they workers started slamming on the door.

Jack rolled his eyes at Devina sarcastically, "Ah bloody dame! There's somethin' bloody wrong with ye! And this time..." He pulled out his pistol, aiming it towards her head, "Ye aren't gettin' away without tellin' me..."
He heard the yell from Portia, but ignored it all the more.

Devina gave a bark of laughter "Put that thing down Jack. Youre to young to play with guns- leave that to the adults." with a wry twist of the wrist she flicked the gun. She shoved her slight form past them, fumbling for the key to the next door.

Jack flinched as the pistol fell from his hand. He immediately charged after it to retrieve it. He stood back up and watched Devina fumble for the key. "Devina Jones..." He held up the pistol and fired it sending the bullet to her leg, "....If I'm too young, then yer too old..."

Portia heard a gunshot in the direction that Devina and Jack were. She then let her head snap back to the door. It fell down to the ground and the workers poured into the house. Portia quickly got out her pistol and started shooting at them. One of the men came up behind her and hit her on the back of the head with a wine bottle. She fell to the ground, unconscience.

Devina let out bark of laughter, reaching down to rub her leg. Her hand came away drenched in blood- she brought it to her lips and grinned "Oh Jack- That was was so painfull." What followed was a knee to the groin. Quickly she ducked and snatched up Portias weapons, a twinge of sympathy quickly being quenched by her own thoughts of helplessness, and bolted.

Jack yelped, stiffened then fell to the floor, almost as if he were a dead man. He muttered sentences under his breath, but to tell you what he said towards Devina would be rather inappropriate.
Finally, he managed to yell, "Portia! Don't...don't let her get away!" He started to stand back up, very slowly I might add.

Portia necessarily didn't hear Jack's plea for help. She was, of course, knocked out. So, she remained on the floor, where she landed and remained very still. Seeming as if she were... dead.

Devina took a deep breath and burst into the open. She couldnt belive they had just bought that. Sweet sounds... She suddenly had a flashback, standing on a stage, her black hair billowing in the wind, around her the inhabitants of Tortuga screaming with joy and clapping.
Her long limbs carried her to the stables where she quickly grabbed the first horse, and cantered out.
After about a mile she pulled thebhorse to a sharp stop, reaching into her shirt she pulled out two things:
A gold medallion, and a small compass, which she had filched from someone sometime ago.

Jack stood up to his full height now and ran around the room looking for Devina, "Devina Jones! Ye bloody dame! Where are ye?!"
Then, an irritating feeling fell over him. That irritable feeling as if a crab has just pinched yer rear end. Jack cringed his face, clenched his jaw and closed his eyes as he heard the sound of hooves thundering then fading out into the distance. How he knew it was Devina on that horse no one will ever know.
"Portia! Get the bloody up!" He reached down and roughly picked up the limp body. He smacked her across the face, "Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" She's gettin' away!"

Portia quickly snapped her eyes open and stared at Jack. "What's yer problem, mate?! Ye just slapped me face!" She yelled at him and slapped his face back. She pulled away from him angrily and shook her head. "I saved yer butt and this is 'ow ye repay me?" She looked around the room.

Jack's head twisted sharply sideways as Portia slapped him. Boy, she had a better hand than Jack would've thought. "Not sure I deserved that one Portia..."
He frowned and turned his face around revealing a pink cheek with a white hand mark.
