Mine is Lothiriel and Eomer. Sadly you don't get to know much about them. Of the others I really like Luthien and Beren. But that's in the Silmarillion, so...

Or, wait. Is it Unfinished Tales?

yeah, but not just lovers. We oughta talk about...
...
...
...
Theoden and Grima! (and Saruman since he's important in that setting).
Why do you think Saruman tried to take control over Rohan, anyway? And how long had Grima been there? Theoden was rather wicked when Gandalf and the guys came around... It's kinda scary, don't you think?

Well yeah I wonder what made Theoden trust him in the first place ... it seems as though Grima was always the sly and evil type. I can't imagine him ever being good!

I can imagine him being good, but only a long time before he came to Saruman and was sent to Theoden. I also don't understand why Theoden trusted him.. maybe it was fear or I don't know..

^yeah exactly ... d'you think it could be because Grima was really convincing and intimidating..? ... sounds stupid but its a possibility...

I don't think Grima really was all that evil. You know... (at least from what I remember) he obviously hated Saruman, which you get to know in the end of the third book. But I might of course be mistaken...

yeah you're right. I think he served him maybe because he was afraid or because he wanted to be near Eowyn or because he wanted more power or so. He wasn't that evil (maybe he became somewhat evil after a while though). But still I don't really understand why Theoden trusted him. Perhaps it was because of his age, but he wasn't that old at that time, was he??
