Well I'm not going to carry on argueing but I did not find what I wrote rude and I did clearly say after what I wrote that it was my opinion and nothing more. And when I explained my opinion of Arwen more throughly and without a trace of a 'mean attitude' I did not get a reply back. So...yes...thank you all for defending me

I think it'd be best if the whole situation was forgotten so that this thread could have a healthy appreciation for Arwen.

Well, like I mentioned, I appreciate Arwen for her sacrifices. Yesterday morning, when I was watching the Special Features of LotR, Liv Tyler said something like, "[Immortality] isn't this big, huge thing [Arwen] has to give up, because everything she wants is to be with Aragorn and be mortal."
Hmmmm. I'm not sure she necessarily wanted to be mortal, but she did definitely want to be with Aragorn. _________________

When did Liv say that, Elberethsq?
That's odd because immortality IS a big thing regardless of different views of it. And giving that up is a big decision for anything even for someone like Arwen.

Thankies Kitoky! Now I remember what I was going to say.
Arwen shows true devotion and love for Aragorn when she gives up her immortality. Either she doesn't give it up and spends the rest of her days in the Undying Lands without Aragorn or she gives it up and spends a few years with the man she loves. Its really amazing what love can do to people.
