Kim gently tended to his wounds, blood never made her squeamish.
"Maybe you should quit." she stated with all seriousness "To be honest with you, all this stuff with Alex has really made me re-evaluate my time here"

"Apocalypse will only hunt you if you go against him. Not likely to be joining Lensherrs side anytime soon are you" she said as she swabbed another of his wounds.
"If you do go, will you do me a favour?" she asked looking up at him.

"Take me with you. I can't stay here anymore. My ideology hasn't changed. But I can't be here, I'm not welcome especially after that display in Sinisters chambers." she looked into his eyes, she was deadly serious.

He thought for a long time and eventualy shook his head.
"No Kim. You need to stay here. Havok still loves you and you him. If you came with me he'd hunt us both down. Sinister still values you. I was just a muscle man."
He stood up, ignoring the pain.
"There's one thing I can do for you..."
He was almost ashamed to bring himself to say it.
"I could defect... Join the X-Men and find a way to end all this..."

"Alex doesn't know what love is, John. He proved that to me, something I think I've known deep down all this time. I can't stay with a man I don't trust. Sinister? He can bite me." Kim explained "If you go alone, I'll find you. So you might as well let me tag along" she threw him a wicked grin

"Then I'm staying. We can't out run them Kim, they'd catch us one day."

"We stay here and then what? More attacks? I can't live like that. I can't be here and look at him every day knowing what he did." Kim dropped the sponge back into the basin and stood up and began to pace.
"You're the only person I've ever known that has given me an ounce of respect. I won't ever forget that."

John sighed.
"Look, life goes on, you will eventually forgive and forget."
He walked up close to her and smiled.
"Like you'll forgive me for this..."
With that he jolted her on the head knocking her out.
"Sorry Kim. Had to"
He ran to his room, grabbing his one other shirt and running to find a car with the keys still in. He drove it out, the tyers squeeling.
"Time to go to the one place that will find some use for me."

Kim mumbled "My head" she trailed off as her eyes rolled into the back of her head. Trying to get some sort of focus it slowly began to dawn on her what happened.
Dam you John she thought to herself and cursed him under her breath.
Struggling to get up, she managed to make her way to the basin and grabbed the sponge and dabbed the back of her head lightly.
Wincing she towelled it off and she knew what she had to do.

"Let's talk about biology," Dani suggested.

Phil looked startled. "Biology?"

"Sure. For example, the nervous system operates by firing electrical signals. Catch my drift?"

An impish grin crawled across his face. "If Titaor has nerves of steel, so much the better."

"Now we're getting somewhere." Dani stood, shouting, "Stand down!" over the hubbub of mutant battle. It took two or three repeats before they finally drew back.

She signalled to her companions, who spread out and together advanced on Titaor. The second mutant, a woman, began hurling energy bolts at the giant - but it was a purely diversionary tactic. As she advanced, Dani, also moving, pared every object out of her mental world except Titaor and the atmosphere surrounding him, which she coaxed into a violent whirlwind. It scooped him up and held him stationary, but Dani couldn't keep it up forever.

Phil took advantage of the giant's position and braced himself against the wind. Once, twice, three times he violently stimulated the nerves of their adversary, paralyzing him.

Dani dropped him to the floor and gestured to the mutant woman. "He's all yours. Aim for the neck - it'll be the most effective."

She blasted him, Titaor no longer able to absorb the bolts - and within moments most of his neck had melted away. The computer droned a series of beeps, declaring him dead.

The car stoped outside the gates of the mansion. Still down, he smiled and drove down the road toward the mansion entrance. He stopped the car and beeped the hone a few times to grab their attention. Turning the engine off he stepped out the car and sat on the bonet, the front suspension dipping down low. He lit a cigarette as his open shirt blew in the wind, revealing his naked torso.
"Hey guys?!"
He blew the smoke out and waited for a response.

Tempest made her way to the garage level. She had grabbed a bag and put as much in it as she could carry. Looking around she spotted a large powerful hoverbike. Not quite like Johns she mused
Jumping on it, she concentrated her power onto one finger and jump started the engine.
Spinning the bike out of the garage she headed straight for the Xavier Institute. She knew that's where he was headed and she was gonna find him.

Icefire was impressed with the show his team had performed. He had little doubt that they would be able to perform the operation. "Excellent work, team," he congratulated. "I could see now that Magneto had made the wise decision in allowing you to advance. Relax a bit and then we will..." A beep interupted him. He took out a small cell phone and pressed 3, *, send. The screen on his phone showed him what the cameras at the gates was wtaching. Sitting on the bonnet of his car was the Apoc brute, as Icefire called him, smoking. Icefire was bewildered. If he wanted to attack, he would have done it now. What in God's name is he doing just sitting there He turned to his class and said, "I'm sorry, my students, but I have received something that has forced me to dismiss this class. Dani, will you accompany me, please?" As his class filtered through the doors, he pressed another series of buttons: 1, *, 4, send. This was an emergency alert button that went directly to Magneto. He descended down to the floor of the Battle Room and waited for Dani.

I was cured all right.

The hoverbike roared down the long dirt road towards the Institute. Tempests mind was focussed like never before. Her mind was resolute, this was the only way now
Her long black trenchcoat billowed in the wind behind her as the hovverbike neared the Institute. She felt lucky to have found this vehicle, otherwise she may not have made it in such quick time.
Hitting the brakes hard the large bike began to skid and Kim deftly jumped off, spun and landed on her feet.
She turned to look at the bike lying on it's side I don't need you anymore, she powered up and the energy discharge from her hands blew the bike up. She smiled as she looked into the large ball of fire.
Quickly turning on her heels, she made her way towards the Mansion gate, only stopping briefly to pick up her bag and slung it over her shoulder.
