I do worry who the two who are getting killed are since she made it sound like it was two that she wasn't planning on killing off originally.
I don't see why something from Ravenclaw would even matter... There are only 7, right?
1.The Diary 2. The ring 3. The Locket 4. Hufflepuff cup 5. ? Most likely Gryffindor 6. Nagini 7. Voldemort himself
I had that idea too, but I think I'm still stuck on the idea that Snape is one of the two people whom she didn't intend to die. I'd have to say I think Ron got the reprieve. I've noticed that in these later books they seemed to be setting up Ron's death, and I'm hoping that's not true.
By the way, your right about the Horcruxes. I remember now that Dumbledore mentioned it could be something from either Gryffindor's or Ravenclaw's, but not both.
I just can't think of anything from Gryffindor besides the sword...

If he came back then yes, I could definitely see a connection between the two. Maybe Dumbledore's task isn't done and so JKR makes it so that he really isn't dead, just as it happened with Gandalf.
But really, even if the killing curse didn't kill him the fall off the astronomy tower would have.

Well, there's also the Sorting Hat or maybe it's something that was presumed lost or that Tom found in the Chamber.
No, Sirius and Albus are both dead although we will get Sirius back in some capacity, either through the mirror or flashbacks.
I believe strongly that they're dead because in the Hero's Journey, the Hero must be alone.

He is a wizard though, even Neville survived being pushed from the tower block, and he is an awful wizard, and didn't know any spells.

Yes, but Neville could just be special. Remember he bounced when his great uncle dropped him?

Exactly. I thnk there is more to Neville than what meets the eye. As for Dumbledre, he's dead, period.

How do we know the sorting hat is from Gryffindor? I think I've heard that theory somewhere else, but you'll have to refresh my memory.

I don't have the books right in front of me, but I believe the Sorting Hat claims he was plucked off Godric's head. It's when he explains about the houses and how everyone wanted students with particular traits and how the Sorting Hat was "born."

Dumbledore would know though wouldn't he? He claimed the only remaining thing was the sword. And I'd think he'd notice of there was a bit of voldy's soul in his office for hundreds of years.

Right, that's why I also suggested...

Ah din't see that. But I think it'd be an item we already know about, it makes it a better story.

True, she tends to go for that...hehe, wouldn't it be funny if he made his award, that Ron puked slugs on and had to clean so many times, into a Horcrux?

Yeah, I can imagine that scene....
"I can't believe I spent four hours cleaning that bloody trophy, and didn't even notice there was a bit of Voldermorts soul in there..."

Ah yes, here it is: Quote: 'Twas Gryffindor who found the way, He whipped me off his head, The founders put some brains in me, So I could choose instead!
I've just been thinking that the Sorting Hat could be the Horcrux from Gryffindor. It makes complete sense now that I've researched it more thouroughly. Gryffindor's sword obviously couldn't be the Horcrux because it wasn't pulled out of the hat till Harry's second year. The sorting hat, as stated above, was Godric Gryffindor's, and was present in Dumbledore's office when Voldie came back to Hogwart's to get the DADA job. What if, Voldemort had somehow made the sorting hat into a horcrux during that meeting? It's entirely possible, but we just don't know how he did it.

Yeah, the sorting hat seems a likley candidate. My only problem is that it helped Harry destroy another Horcrux, and I don't think it'd do that if it was one would it?

But it's an inanimate object [despite the fact that it can talk], it's brain wasn't made for complex thinking, just for coming up with the school's sorting song. Plus, how would it be able to stop Harry from destroying the diary? It can't move on it's own and it's not like it'd be able to attack Harry.
