"This place is so depressing. But I'm glad I'm here with you, I'd go stir crazy here on my own"

For a moment John seemed somewhat distant, like day dreaming but his thoughts were totaly focused. He blinked and looked at her.
"Wha..? Oh Yeah I guess this place is. At least you've had more contact than me." He smiled.
"You know I wouldn't mind having a talk with the Icefire guy..."

Kim stood up, and began to pace. Bringing one of her hands up she chewed on her nails. "There was so much I wasn't allowed to tell. So many secrets, lies. I had no choice."
She turned her back to Lucifuge, she hated being seen so vulnerable.

He rose to his full height and stepped up to her, towering over her which might seem menacing if not for his warm smile.
"You tell them what you think will help to defeat Apoc, nothing more. This is our new future."
He tilted his head down to look at her.
"Think of this as a new life."
He placed his hands tenderly on her shoulders and pulled her toward him, embracing her in a hug.

Kim wrapped her arms around him, he always knew how to make her feel safe and secure.
"There is one thing you ought to know..." she trailed off, shaking a little. But resolved to get it out into the open "Alex and me? Was completely fraudulent"
She closed her eyes, not sure what reaction she was going to get in return to her outburst.

Kim pulled away and sat back down on the edge of the bed.
"This is going to be so difficult to explain." she fidgeted with her hands "We're not legally married. Never were. I was recruited by Sinister via Alex. I had fallen on rough times after the first war. Assassins and mercenaries were no longer necessary because of the influx of Prelates. Alex claimed at the time I was wanted to be one of those soldiers. It paid well, Id have a roof over my head. I didnt have anywhere else to go."
She frowned at the memory, but continued on
"Alex and I was all Sinisters idea. The perfect couple..which would lead to the perfect children. I did it..or I died. Later..they found out I couldn't concieve. But we had to maintain this air of perfection."

She hung her head, putting her hands on her head.

She looked at him, tears in her eyes. "I'm so sorry I lied to you all this time. After so long, I had started to convince myself it was for the best."
She lifted a hand up to his face and brushed away some hair that had fallen.
"Alex grew suspicious of our friendship and tried everything to drive a wedge between us. That's why one day out of nowhere I was taken off your patrol. He couldn't risk me confiding in you."

She managed a small smile "All he did was bring us closer"
