He grunted, absently kicking a bone and watching as it crumbled into dust. " Not a vampire, no."

He turned around, completely facing the girl. "Guess again, love."

[sorry been gone on vacation for a week. I've noticed that this is practically my only "good" character... and go figure everyone else here is dark and evil ]

In the confusion created by the stranger's fireballs, Yrudit chose the moment to execute a spell of his own. A blinding ray of light lanced out from his talons. The soldiers yelled and clapped hands to their eyes. When their vision stopped swimming, the lizard cleric was gone.

Yrudit moved as silently as the shadows themselves as he snuck through an empty part of the village. Ahead, he glimpsed the enigmatic indigo-haired man. Beside him was a young woman.

Who in the abyss were these people.... He'd been chased by assassins all night, and now this....

Rumour raises an eyebrow, her eyes glittering slightly. "Really?.... Enlighten me, as to what you are, then....." She doesn't appear to grow any taller, but she is suddenly eye to eye with him, matching his stare with her reptilian eyes......

His interest level in this place was fading quickly, he was like a little boy who had just grown disgusted with a new toy. He was even beginning to wonder if his little diet was worth the effort. It had no real purpose, and enough information to last a lifetime could be obtained from his sacrificial two weeks.

Mm.

His gaze flickered over the woman who was standing before him, the shapeshifter who had taken a keen interest in him. Dante's eyes reflected chalcedony as they travelled over Rumour's attire slowly, imprudently.

" Just a figment of your imagination, dear."

Rumour smirks. "Yes, but I'm not... Enjoying the view, are you?.... Most would have your eyes for that....." She stops, as though considering something, then begins again. "But if you're not a vampire, then forget it...." Rumour turns and walks away. "I was going to ask you something, but there's no point in it now....."

Dark grey/green eyes, wavy auburn hair running halfway down her back. There's a scar in the shape of a crescent running from her left eyebrow to her cheekbone, noticeable but not conspicious. Weapons include an assortment of daggers and a pair of scimitars.

Tonnerre lightly leapt down from the limb of the willow, where she had been resting against the trunk of the tree above them, fighting to resist a yawn. "Sorry I had to jump in. Can't stand people to walk away like that, thought I'd spare you the trouble..." At this point, the yawn won out and revealed a glimpse of her canine teeth, pointed to happy oblivion.

She took a moment to glance at Dante, appearing slightly amused with a halfhearted smirk. "You're a rather gloomy fellow, aren't you, love...And you," she add to the shapeshifter's back, "have something to ask?" She slowly drummed her fingers on the hilt of her scimitar, patient demeanor declining every moment and again struggling to contain a yawn.

Rumour turns around and sighs, her reptilian eyes flicking to the newcomer. "Yes, but it was not put to you....." She does not reveal whether she knew the vampire was there or not, but since she appears in unconventional ways, she is not surprised by the other's appearance.....

Yrudit found himself contemplating this dark gathering and whether to walk away or not when...

Horses galloping down the road. The riders boasted no royal uniform or official badges. Misty light gleamed on their naked, curved sabres. They veered off the road toward the village, then caught sight of Yrudit. The lead rider pointed and made a slashing motion with his sabre.

Rumour turns again as she hears the riders coming down the road. She watches silently as they draw nearer, and sighs. "How annoying....."

Dante's crystalline orbs fixed darkly on the vampire who had decided to so casually drop in. A petulant sneer creased his plump masculine lips as he seemed to dither a glowering scowl between both Rumour and Tonnerre. He was about to throw a ridiculously pointless insult at the both of them for no real reason other than annoying him immensely, when his attention was diverted.

His eyes fixated on Yrudit, the scaled one who had ignored him earlier, but his fascination had not dwindled. He remained mute, studying Yrudit from his distance, acutely aware that he would not be able to get out of this god forsaken village without a hassle.

Tonnerre sighed. "A vampire is a vampire, love. I think someone woke up on the wrong side of the hemisphere this morning. But I'm willing to overlook it just because I'm actually quite exhausted. You can't take out something like that--" she swept her arm in the direction of the destroyed village, "without getting drained."

Turning to the Dante, she added, "You enjoy others' pain, don't you...? You'll be glad to hear that every single being was anhilated, and not without suffering excrutiating torment." With a sly smile she flicked her fingers, smoothly twisting her wrist to reveal azure flames that licked at her palm. "Imagine, thousands of degrees busting through every wall of your house...All you see before blinding agony is blue. Just like a sea of pain washing over you, only...literally. I can only imagine how terrifying it would be." With a shrug, Tonnerre sat down at the base of the tree, retracting the fire. She yawned again. "Pity, though. So much blood just wasted. But everything worth acquiring comes with a price..."

He turned to look back at the vampire who was now speaking to him. His face brightened, as if somehow delighted by the broached conversation, and he shook his head.

" Only if I am the one inflicting the pain, my dear." He smiled


"Why do you ask?"

She shrugged nonchalantly. "Just heard it from a friend, is all. Or, maybe it wasn't a friend at all...Could possibly have been a victim...Or the friend of a victim. Or a friend's victim. In fact I think it may have been the friend of the victim of a friend who later became my friend's victim.Then again, I haven't many friends..." She furrowed her brow, frowning dubiously. "Ah well. I heard it from someone, and at that moment they were a reliable source. Of course they could have been lying and that would mean the opposite of what they told me. But judging by the look on your face, they weren't..." She grinned. "You certainly seem interested though, for someone who only enjoys pain when they do it..."

Yrudit's gaze went from the two strangers, who were having quite an insouciant chat, to the nearing horsemen. Why couldn't he ever get away from the cursed assassins? Why did they even want his blood for that matter?

In any case, he had no intention of waiting here. He harnessed a ball of lightning and sent it hurling at the lead rider.

Rumour watches the two, wondering what she's doing here in the first place. She had come to see what was happening to the village, and stayed to find out who would find it when the massacre was over. But the people who did come weren't very interesting.....
