(We need a name for the city, or have you said it already? I can't remember)
Mirima nodded, "An ancient mage once travelled here, on an errand of the utmost importance. Few knew of this trip, and that was the way he wanted it. You see, he carried with him an object with enough power to create or destroy kingdoms. Those of good and evil desired it, for whoever had control would have complete power over the other."
She paused for a moment, then continued. "Now, you have most likely heard of rings or other objects with such powers. They have all passed into memory. This object appears to be a normal book. Yet within its pages are words that contain the blessing of the High Ones. Those who read them, cannot fail." Mirima looked at the Speaker, Oaklock and Isashaen. "It is within this building, protected by magic that cannot be undone-except by one person."

(I THINK it is Xoldrai....)
"You are sure of this?" Asked the Speaker, his face ashen. "Where? And Who?" He pressed.

(Ok, that works! Considering the person who made this RP hasn't been around forever...)
A smile formed on her pale lips, "I am sure of this, for I am that person. The only living descendant of Zarakli, the powerful ancient mage who created the book. Now is the time to use it, and I have come to claim my heirloom once more."
Mirima walked to the small window and gazed out on the near-empty city. "You had a king, many years ago, by the name of Oadwair, am I correct?" she asked the speaker.

"Y..Yes of course. Oadwair." replied the speaker somewhat hesitantley.
"But what do you mean to do with this book?" asked Oaklock. he took a step towards her "it sounds evil to me, and the history of your people do not covince me that you will not use this book for evil."

"Perhaps so, Master Oaklock, yet I fear I cannot convince you otherwise if you cannot take my word for it." Mirima looked at him for a moment, as if evaluating his intentions, then returned her gaze to the window. "King Oadwair was the guardian of this book of power, though few knew it. It was predicted that the book would remain in his care for 1000 years, under the protection of Speakers after his imminent death. This year marks the 1000th since it was brought to Xoldrai."

Isashaen spoke for the first time. She was young and she knew it. She had not thought it necessary to speak beforre then. "This is something to do with my quest also. The book is known in my clan. We tell its story to our children. Yet I wwas sent to see this book. For there is something you have not yet mentioned. He, who looks into this book must leave something of himself behind - his youth. He comes as a young man, but leaves as an elf near death. So great is the impct of these words. I was sent, I know these dangers and my clan needs the wisdom of this book."
(Sorry I was away and I'll only be popping in occasionaly for a while.)

(thats okay! sorry we went so far without you!)
Mirima turned at Isashaen's words, suddenly remembering she was there. "I felt it upon you, friend, when we first met, though I did not speak of it." She smiled warmly, "Please, come, tell us your tale. I believe mine intertwines with yours."

Oaklock studied Mirima for a moment longer, then dropped his guard "I apologize, lady Mirima, of course I will trust thee" he dropped his gaze, as if recalling memories past "I have had... Experiances in the past with Mages, Human mages, yes, but mages all the same." he looked at Mirima once more "You see, I use magic, yes, as all of my Kin do, but these mages that study ONLY magic want only one thing; power, and nothing will get in their way. But it is these Black Robed Human Mages that I speak of, so I cannot Judge. once again, I give my Apologies"

(No problem)
"my tale is short", Isashaen said., "for I am but 87. I was chosen to become priestess at the age of 20. Since then I have been learning at the Convent of Clwyd, the door to the woods. I have been a full priestess for 20 moons yestereve and a full warrior of the clan for 20 years more. When our Mac wanted a person to find this book I was chosen - I was young, a talented enough warrior and a gifted priestess. So, here I am." She smiled at the others and waited to hear more.

"So what do your people want with this book?" asks Oaklock

Mirima nodded in response to Oaklock's apology, "Very well, I understand." She then listened attentively to Isashaen's speech.

"So what do you want me to do for you?" Oaklock asks Mirima

Mirima replied to Oaklock, "I am afraid at the moment, I need only the aid of the Speaker. He holds the key to the Tower I must access in order to get the book. You see, King Hardon believes the book to be in the possession of my kingdom, in my father's city. Of course he is mistaken, as you now know. Yet he will soon discover this, and Xoldrai will be in worse danger, from all sides. I aim to take the book to the Mountain of Knowledge, for there only can the words be spoken that will destroy the book, and the hold that is over Hardon."

"If you know where it lies, then you must take it, for all our sakes, i see now" said the speaker

Mirima finally smiled, "Thank you for understanding, Speaker. I will gladly do whatever I can to save all those in danger. I would appreciate it if I could have the key in your possession as soon as possible, so that I could get on my way."

"Even I....I never knew what was behind that door. The former speaker passed it to me, with very little information, but what he told me, I understand." he said, removing a small, golden key.
