I like this Tia Dalma/Davy Jones theory, as it makes a lot of sense. *whacks potr*

Ah, sorry to hear about poor Jack... but no doubt they'll figure out a way to get him back in AWE.

yeah if Jack is dead, then they have teh whole thing going on about At World's End which is like a sailor's "heaven" if you will. Barbossa has been there and come back. Sure he was cursed but if Barbossa can do it so can Jack, with a little help from his friends of course.

My friend actually came up with a pretyy reasonable reason for Barbossa to be back. She thinks that since the monkey is still cursed, then so is Barbossa because she thinks the monkey could have taken one of the medallions out of the chest at the last minute. That's her theory, and next time I watch the DVD I'll have to look where the monkey was last...

Oh, yes, and I read somewhere that AWE is supposed to hit theaters sometime in May of 2007 :-D

One small flaw to that plan- the curse was, in fact, lifted. Otherwise, Jack and all the others would still be cursed as well. The monkey did remove the coin, but it was only after the curse had already been lifted, and it only affected the monkey. The best way to explain it would be this:
Say persons A, B, and C all removed a coin from the chest. A, B, and C would then all be cursed, and it would require all of their blood to lift said curse. If, during the period of time that A, B, and C are still cursed, person D takes a piece of his own, he is then added to the existing curse, and now persons A, B, C, and D must all give their blood to lift it. Once all of said individuals' blood is obtained, the curse is lifted from all four of them. If, however, person E was to come along and remove a piece of his own after the curse had been lifted, then only person E would be cursed. A, B, C, and D would have to take another piece to be cursed.
Just because the monkey took another piece, it doesn't mean the curse comes back on all of them (or any of them).

Barbossa has returned for other reasons that will be explained in the third film.

hey I'm not sure if you know this already or not, but there's been a statement released by Disney that says that PotC 3 will NOT be titled "At World's End". They have yet to title the movie, here's the link for the article.

Yeah, I know Calen...thus far I've just been calling it AWE because that's what the writers are pulling for, and it's also my favorite (aside from Calypso's Fury, which the advertizing people already turned down). I also really like the title Uncharted Waters, though. The main reason I like At World's End is the acronym it makes, though (AWE). It seems to perfectly summarize what the audience will be feeling at the end.

Yeah. I know it's not the official title. But it's a working title for us now ain't it?

potr, I still don't know how you supposedly know so much since you're not saying anything (seeing is believing)! :p Stop whistling and spill all... please? Well, maybe not all... but stop looking... so... innocent!

That's cool that they are looking at showing it in less than a year! I was afraid that we might have to wait ages and ages (and I don't think I could stand the suspense!) However, to May I can wait...

:P I assure you, I'm far more generous than my own sources. They prefer to take a piece of information, then dangle it in our faces for two or three weeks, then give us just vague enough clues to make us think (but not enough to reach any conclusions), and then they just let us figure it out on our own while they sit back and enjoy the wild speculation. So...yeah. And just for the record, I've also been nicer than Pip and erica, who know just as much as I do. I've given y'all far more straight answers than they have....know that. ;)

So...hmm...about Tia Dalma (since that's the first thing I was whistling about). Let's just say there's more to this lady than meets the eye. (<- blatant LotR quoting :P) A lot more. I've already pretty much given it away on both the DMC thread and the PotC Fanclub thread, so I'm really amazed that some of you haven't gone for it yet. Next time you see DMC, take a very close look at Tia Dalma's locket (on the table when Jack is ganking the ring) and Davy Jones' music box (you know where that one is). It's a very important thing. And for those more impatient types who don't want to think it out for themselves, eowynfaramir4evr hit the nail right on the head (though she didn't know it at the time) on page 95 of the PotC Fanclub thread. :P

About Barbossa...He's back. No curses involved. He is 100% human being this time (as can be seen by his eating the apple). Tia Dalma brought him back so that he can guide the others to the "world's end" to find Jack, but he has his own reasons for going. There's a certain item in Jack's possession (not the Pearl, though he obviously wants her as well) that he wants. He'll stay a "good guy" for a vast majority of the film, but do bear in mind that he and Jack were written to be two sides of the same coin. His alliances are only that which benefit him.

So...food for thought, aye?

I think it should be kept a trilogy. I mean if they made twenty movies of it wouldn't you get tired? I think the more movies they make the less money becasue people will get bored. Look how many Rocky movies there are and how they're unpopular. I heard that the third one is going to be the last one and it should remain so. If they like doing them so much, make it a TV series!
