Will stood still. His knife was still pointing at Rose. "Well, have you considered that we have other laws too? Maybe other beliefs that might not allow us for others to be killed while we stand and watch? I'm terribly sorry, Rosemary, but I cannot allow you to kill Amber, as long as I'm alive."

The subtle knife glinted in the moonlight. Will stood there, clenching his teeth with rage at the ignorance Rose showed at the value of human life. He never intended to hurt her, just make her a little frightened.
