Never ridden a Tennesse Walker but I do ride a QH quite often. (only, SA type QH, smaller). But I usually ride a Thoroughbred.

Tennesse Walkers are ok. They aren't all that tall , come in all diffrent colors, and have a very smoth trot when you keep presure on the bit and ege them on with your feet. But they are very hardheaded

Did any check out my links earlier?
Never heard of a boerperd. I have a quater Horse and she's really smooth to ride (not to mention slow cause she's a Western Pleasure horse.) I would love to contest her though, like do and poles, and Western riding. That would be fun

Ah, I went to a talk about the Ahkal Teke breed, to answer Leaha's question, they come from Turkmenistan and other surrounding countries (Ye olde Soviet Union) It's mainly a desert horse, which doesn't suprise me because it comes from a very dry region. It's one of those really hardy breeds...
I once had a penpal from Turkmenistan and she would write me and tell me of how much they treasure the horses there. It's amazing many judge you on your wealth by how many horses.....
Anywho,
I've always thought Akhal-Tekes were kind of unproportionate looking....well here's a picture
Well, the talk I went to was mostly about how the Native American's (mainly the Nez Perce) made their own breed by crossing an Appaloosa with an Akhal Teke and it's called The Nez Perce...Anyways, there's a lot of history surrounding the Nez Perce and their Horses....

I do Love Gypsy Vanner's too! I would love to have a heavy horse , but I dont think they could stand the heat in Texas .
ANd I have always thought that Akhal-Teke's were exotic looking with them being so skinny, and their color...

Nice pics, but, the horse looks like a Tenesse Walker.
I like the big horses too.. Shires are nice.
Welcome to the club Tinuviel444. I like Quater horses too, but I really love the lippizaners. They are just awesome! When they are born they look black, but as they age they become more grey or white. When they choose their rider, they bond with that rider for life.

I have heard that they're pretty awesome. Everyone just loves draft horses here. I know a trainer who has a perchon-throughbred cross and he's ornery... he'll go through anything (i.e. fences) without stopping.

Fweee! I know a couple of horses like that , trouble makers they are But...we love them anyways
I once rode a shire, it was so much fine, it made me think I was a knight in the middle ages....and then I wanted to joust One time, my horseback riding instructor and I jousted with whips, it was terribly fun
