You all have very interesting opinions on Galadriel and the first impressions are very diverse.
Yes, I can understand why one would find her inferior at first sight; because after one has been alive for 15,000 years you kind of numb down on emotion and are more grave and straight forwards. But as the book says: There is no evil in her and in this land, unless a man bring it hither himself. She is very wise and very inteligent so her knowing so much may seem odd and not agreeable with some because it's not everyday you meet someone like her. I myself would love to meet her druing a journey. It would be alot of relief on my part. I didn't think she was evil the first time I saw her in the movie. I really didn't have any opinion on her. But the second time I saw her I loved her for her kindness and deep wisdom. She bestills a sort of awe in you.

The 1st time that I saw her the first thing that came to my mind was that she was a lil creepy, but also beautiful. She is really amaizing, I could never imagine her beeng evil, never in my life my Elf friends.

Yeah, the creepy aura is natural because they are so mysterious and grave all the time. She's very beautiful and I could never quite see her as evil. Most people push away from her after seeing her turn green when she is tested by the ring and wisely refuses. Actually it was a white light in the book.

Why did they had to change it? May-b they wanted the viewrs to think bad of her. Well that's not very nice, is it my Elf friends?

You're right it's not but I don't think that's why they did it. The ring is evil so maybe they wanted a more dark side color, though I would have stuck with white.

IMHO the greenish X-ray effect they used wasn't all that good... at least not compared to the description in the book. I mean, we're talking 2002 (or 2003?) and we've seen more impressive effects in Matrix and Star Wars.... I was slightly disappointed by the cave troll too..... TTT and RotK was a lot better on the special effects, fortunately!

Yeah, I think it was quite mean of PJ and Co to make Galadriel seem evil... with someone as good and pure, it's like spitting in Tolkien's face, destorying a character like that... at least the Extended FotR made her seem much, much more book-like, lol!

I first saw Galadriel in the movie, in FotR. I don't remember what I thought...I really wasn't sure who she was. Then the whole part at the mirror just scared me, hehe.

Wops! Sorry! Yes I do get that better. It's a little late, but that is funny.
Yeah, I wasn't very impressed with the book to movie transition of her ring temptation. The biggest thing: it was white not green. They did kind of give her that evil affect which really misleakds some people.

I think mebbe they made her look evil so that they could show how the Ring tempts even the best of people..

Movie: "EVILSES ELF!"

Ohhh, my first impression was also of evilness, plainly because I was only a young'un, and I'd never read the books before!
I think what turned me against her, was the fact she turned "green" as I described it then...
Obviously now I understand she's brilliant, so you can forgive me
