I'm afraid that it is another sign of the 'Americanisation' of our wonderful islands. Not that I hold anything against the Americans, but I wish some people in this country wouldn't use their slang terms.
Mind you, the TV doesn't help with that, seeing as at least half the shows and adverts on channels 3, 4, and 5 are american, or done with bad american accents. [Yay for the BBC ]

I love listening to other accents. There was a priest in church when I was over who was Scottish. Great! I've just come back from wonderfully and mercifully cool Britain to a German oven. *pounds table* Terrible!!

Oh if you only knew the heat I've endured where I live. As my dad put it, it's hotter than 40 hells LOL.
I love listening to other peoples accents, especially english and scottish. They just sound so much cooler than any American accent...I can't imagine anyone thinking an American accent sounds cool .

Lol, I suppose, us English aren't used to these summers though. Normally you blink and miss them.

Yeah for me being in England was like skipping summer altogether and jumping straight into winter. We have really weird winters, it goes from being warm to freezing and then back to warm again and it goes in that cycle til May when it gets incredibly hot. There were some times when I could have wore shorts this January and then others where I was freezing my buns off.

Oh, well. As for the accents - the German one is terrible! Sometimes I can't understand a word my classmates are trying to say! And then I'm supposed to correct their pronunciation (which is impossible) and their written texts (which are unreadable). Now how am I supposed to do that while reading "A tale of two cities" and "Great expectations" at the same time???!!! Life as a normal British person in Germany.

Wow, that must be difficult. I haven't even read it in English.
